Rio to United was a bigger thing than Smith. Leeds had been relegated when Smith went |

agreed, but Leeds had been relegated so it wasn't such a jump shark scenario. |

Campbell: Be in with a shout, but he had always said that his main resaon for moving was CL football. If JT goes, its going from team with CL football to a team without CL football. Figo: May have been Captain, but only at Barca for 5 yrs so not close IMO. Tevez: Now thats just being silly. Bentley: See above. Lampard; Was only 23 when he moved and didnt move until after family connections left WH. Cole: Again was only 19 or 20 when he moved, cant see the big deal. For me, the sort of players that would compare would be Gerrard moving to City, or Scholes/Giggs in their prime moving to a lesser team without CL football, but just for the money. Of the above names only Campbell comes close, and he was moving to a better team, not a worse team. |

Aren't there yet though so he'd be taking a step down for a possible step up in the future sometime. Emphasis on the word possible. Much safer for his career to stay at Chelsea for the time being as City will still probably want him if they do manage to breaknto the top 4. That's if he's not after more money of course. |

There is no other reason. Terry has felt the pain of coming close to the CL for many years now, and his career is too short to waste at least a year without CL football. I bet he's craving CL success so moving to City would be a money move and nothing else. |
