will Rafa want to keep him now? Doesn't look good if a player wants away (and I don't blame him. I don't blame anyone for wanting to go to Real Madrid at the moment, it sure looks and exciting time to be at the club) |

He'd succeed at Real Madrid as well, Alonso has a good mentality. |

theres no actual direct quote from Xabi that I could see but there is a quote from Pelligrini saying that he still wants him. One thing it does say in the article though is that Xabi has stopped short of handing in a transfer request, which kind of baffles me. If he wants to leave then hand in the request and I doubt anyone will have any qualms about it at all. No point in saying you want to go if you're not going to officially request it. I personally wouldn't want to see our club stand in the way if someone wants to leave, but they need to actually state that first, if he does then fair enough, good luck in your future. Also, on the note of Rafa wanting to sell him, people seem to forget that Xabi instigated that whole saga himsel by stating in the prior season that he wanted to return to the continent to raise his son and was keen to play in either Italy or back in Spain, it took two of them to make the decision to look at offers..... |

I agree, if he wants to leave then he has his reasons and I wouldnt want us to stand in his way, I do think he should come out and say it himself though |

More guesswork from the papers maybe? I'm surprised Madrid haven't tried to pull out all the stops for him tbh, they need that type of midfielder and with him being Spanish it's a bonus. |

its one of the most accurate I would say, although that has changed a bit over the last couple of years, end of the day headlines sell papers still. Just think Alonso should come out and say it himself if he really does want to go, he's not been afraid to say it in the past so why not now. Nobody would begrudge him it if he wanted to go, Real are building an incredible squad at the moment and anyone would want to be a part of it. |
