I dont know IRL bellamys more of a goalscorer for me but his injury record is terrible, its up there with the likes of saha.

So I'd probably rather have crouch on that factor alone

You mention players joining smaller clubs...give me examples of top players that play for CL clubs like United, Madrid, Barca, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter, Juve, Milan etc, moving to a club that doesn't play CL football. I certainly can't think of any examples.
Juventus players like Buffon, Nedved, Del Piero went two seasons with no Champions League football when they got demoted but nobody thinks any less of them.

If they played CL football in those seasons they'd look back on a better career, but that's not the point, your example is the opposite of what I'm saying. Those players didn't move away for CL football, I'm talking about players moving away for no CL football, there's a huge difference.

As for Moonie, Beckham? He had no choice but to leave United and he joined a CL side....he then joined La Galaxy when he was past it.

Beckham was definitely past it and couldn't have enhanced in stature even if he id move to a lesser CL club. I'm talking about players at a prime age, who have the opportunity to continue making an impact in CL football, Beckham isn't one of them.

Why a better Career? I find your idea that any year you don't play CL is a wasted year stupid tbh.... If the players were happy with what they did at juve and that they got him back how can you say they would've had a better career otherwise.... a good career is as much about feeling good about what you do as your actual accomplishments... And not every player would be as CL fixated as you are IRIR....

You are not maximising your potential as a footballer.

When players finish a career they want to have achieved all they were capable of. Terry at Chelsea will be fighting on all-fronts, going deep in the CL and fighting for the title. Swapping that for AT LEAST one year of no CL football and a fight to get into the top four is not a career move, it is a money move.

dutch your argument that CL football isnt everything is a bit off considering thats what citys target is this season to get into the CL.

i kinda agree with russias point about players at a CL club moving away to a team without CL, unless they r from the french/portugease/dutch league it is a step down.

at the moment terry is almost guaranteed CL football until he retires at Chelsea and will probs make the quarters atleast every year. with city he may have it next season, the may have it the season after

your only going to get arsenal players doing that as everyone else offer good wages or players that think they r worth more than they actually are (adebayor)

beckham wasnt offered a contract by madrid so he went else where, at thetime he hadent really played for madrid for half a season either so moving to a Cl team probably wasnt even an option
