Wenger says the money from the Adebayor sale is there to spend if they find the right players. But I wonder if it really is or has it gone on the stadium or whatever.

Adebayor yesterday said that we needed the money from his move. <_<

I am not sure whats going on but if we needed the money then we should have accepted Usmanov's proposal which would have seen Wenger get more money this summer!

if wenger is saying it's there, it must be.... usually he's the one saying there are no funds and the board is saying the money's there

When Wenger has spent over £10 million the signings have been great. (Maybe not Reyes)

I think he's just so into his youth policy he doesn't want to destabilise the development of his team.

you still believe what that guy says

if wenger doesnt spend the money then it will go in the pocket of the shareholders. it isnt because of their debt they aint been spending, its the shareholders taking out large amounts of dividends

Needed the money for what exactly?

If there is money available then i'd imagine he'd spend it since the pressure to deliver trophies is mounting.

I am not 100% sure but Wenger has said the fans forced him out or seems to have hinted it.

Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that the club’s fans are to blame for striker Emmanuel Adebayor leaving north London.

The Togo international swapped the Emirates for Eastlands yesterday, signing a five-year deal at the club and following Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry to Manchester City.

However, speaking to the Mail on Sunday, Wenger wished the striker well in his future career but blamed a lack of fan support for his exit.

“We have lost a great player and we wish him well,” said the Gunners boss.

“He's done extremely well for the club. I don't believe that last season he got enough support. That was playing a part in my mind and in his mind, certainly, as well.”

The Arsenal boss went on to say he felt the lack of support, which stemmed from last summer’s perceived flirtations with AC Milan and Barcelona, affected Adebayor’s confidence.

“I believe he wanted to do well but he didn't find the confidence he had the season before,” added Wenger.

“There was a little resentment you could feel through last summer.”

Despite having lost the 25-year-old, Wenger insisted the Gunners could cope and would continue to compete for the game’s top prizes.

“Believe me, he's a great player and he'll show that again at Manchester City,” he admitted.

“Big clubs lose big players. Milan have lost Kaka and Milan will go on. Arsenal have always lost players and continued at the top level.”

Sounds like Wenger wanted to keep him there.

Another big baby like Eboue? :S Seems a bit cheap blaming lack of support on his form.

Of course he did! Wenger isn't stupid and he knows just how good he is like he said. I know nearly everyone will disagree with me but he without a doubt is better than Van Persie. 20 goals for RVP in the best season of his career and Adebayor poor season and he gets 16 goals and he was injured for a couple of months. They ended up with the same ammount of goals in the league. Adebayor is a MUCH better goalscorer than RVP which is why i am gutted he is gone. If Eduardo stays fit we have a better goalscorer than Ade but that injury keeps playing him up. If he stays fit i will get over Ade leaving very soon. :)

Eboue is not a big baby :hit: He got straight back on after how the fans treated him and played well. :D

Wenger never talks about transfers,

I think Chamakh will end up coming in, and possible a defender or midfielder, hopefully a midfielder though.
