think he has a point tbh. Only a spectacle because Owen said it, if Rooney said this everyone would be ok with it.
He has a point but it shouldn't really be said from a player that's only just arrived at the club...
...because he isn't entitled to an opinion?
No. :p How would you like it if somebody new and on the same level as you came into where you worked and said you needed to do better?
I think he was saying that because the best player has been sold, that everyone needs to up their game to compensate. Thats not an unfair statement.

Why not? It shows his commitment to the club that he wants them as good as they can... It shows ambition, and it is a positive attitude looking at the new season (let's all chip in to forget ronaldo).... Wonder why you are always looking at the negative side of such things Flak :S
It's just not right from a new player, no matter who it is. Telling them they need to improve pffft!

I've got no problem with the statement other than it shouldn't be said by a new player at a club. How's about he actually plays a few games and does his talking on the pitch.

He was asked about ronaldo and replacing him. Its a perfectly valid response.

There's nothing wrong with what he's said. The fact is, United have lost arguably the best player in the world and that's obviously a big blow. Owen is hoping United maintain their standards and he, like everyone, knows that the current crop need to up their games to make up for his loss.

I remember someone saying he shouldn't have said that about Rooney...if whoever it was actually had a think they might realise that it's actually a compliment because he's singling out Rooney as our best player.
Simmer...

Seeing how everyone but you thinks it's a valid response you might wonder if his teammates won't think the same

I wonder if he's outlined to Rooney just where exactly he can improve his game :D

Maybe he's sat down with the rest of the team and explained it to them too :S
