Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship – and we will – success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once

damn... no one saw that coming.

I believe they are 4th in the league and ONE point behind the league leaders.. never liked him anyway and always had the feeling he was incompetent and probably got the job because gibson wanted to save cash

Surprised with this....

They are only 1 point behind the leaders. He would of took them to the playoffs atleast. This could knock their season off track

Boro actually won on Tuesday evening to end a three-match losing streak at home - but the crowd against Derby County was less than 18,000 - the lowest league attendance ever at The Riverside.

Bet you that it was the lack of attendence that finally got rid of him. Been there since 95 so its the lowest league gate in 14 yrs, and can take 35k so it was only half full.

I thought Boro were famed for keeping hold of their managers longer than they should do?

He was sacked straight after beating Derby 2-0 last night. Football's gone mad!

He was sacked because they lost 3 at home on the bounce, all well and good saying they are a point off top but they are also just a point ahead of Blackpool! 4 points seperate the top 10 teams, it's not like they are oh so close and miles ahead of everybody else. He has recruited poorly again. Caleb Folan? Really? Come on. Their home form is poor, they don't score goals, never have under his tenure, and let's face it, when you let a 2 goal lead slip against Coventry your redundancy papers should be in the post.
