Changing my tune since 2008.
The match might not be on. The roads around here are awful, my college is closed and it NEVER closes. Seriously, it says a lot about how bad the roads are when my college decides to close. A quote from the Rovers' website:

Having been in regular contact with the Police and the Met Office for the last few hours, we are now in dialog with the Football League concerning the prospects for this evening's Carling Cup semi-final 1st leg tie against Aston Villa.

We will make an announcement as soon as possible regarding the game.

If it goes ahead, I expect Rovers to win as its a home game and we're quite good at Ewood. I think Villa will win the return leg though so its hard to call who'll go through.

The match has been cancelled tonight. The pitch is fine and playable but the roads around Ewood are awful - not a lot they can do about that - they don't know when the rearranged date will be but now we're at a disadvantage due to having the home fixture as the second leg. Although you could argue it'd be what we need to give us the extra push over the line I suppose...

Shame i was looking forward to tonight. Public safety comes first though so they are right to cancel it.

Not a lot they can do - the roads around here are absolutely awful. Rovers did their bit but they can't grit around the whole of Blackburn. The pitch was perfectly playable but even the bus routes aren't good in Blackburn - the buses are all stopped and there are very few services running to give you a rough guide of how bad the roads are.

Its a shame, it means we have to wait longer for a win :p

Go villa.

grella and roberts likely to miss out with injury and diouf is suspended for blackburn.

villa have a full squad to pick from besides salifou who is on leave because of the togo incident. the extra week means james milner has recovered from the foot injury and brad guzan the penalty legend will start in goal
