Brown's best season has been at RB, he's never shone in CB, never.

Berbatov had his pockets pinched for the goal, and literally had the same thing a few minutes later. I'm not comparing him to others but Rooney's contribution to the game far exceeded the rare occasions he got dispossessed and that was only once that I noticed in the second half tbf.

we were p!ss poor :( owen and rooney missed some chances towards the end and leeds could have at least got another. i hate to say it, but they deserved to go through

our passing was not great and we couldnt keep the ball for very long. giving the ball away so cheaply everytime we had posession was probably the most frustrating thing throughout the game and its a shame that we didnt improve after half time.

was expecting more from obertan after he's been playing well for us, brown, well its obvious and anderson was awful in my opinion, i'd give him 8 out of 10 for effort but thats about it. gibson...lets not go there.

:( nevermind.

Jus because his best season came as RB doesn't necssarily mean it's his best position. CB is his most preferred position and definetly his best imo.

It wasnt just Rooney getting dispossed. It's his passing that at times was poor again today. Simple, short passes being misplaced all the time.

Cantona, he has no position sense at CB. He is not a natural there and never has been. He always gets caught out cos of it. At rb he's positionally sound and absolutely reliable.

Rooney had no options around him most of the time. The rest of the Utd team were pedestrian so the Leeds defenders could mark up easily making it difficult for Rooney to bring in other Utd players. When one of your players had the ball the rest of your team spent most of the time ball watching. Except for Rooney.

Going To Make You An Offer You Cant Refuse.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated that he has given his players the famous hairdryer treatment after their defeat to Leeds.

The Red Devils boss was left fuming following Sunday's 1-0 FA Cup upset at Old Trafford, where striker Jermaine Beckford was the hero for the visitors in the 19th minute.

United selected a fringe team but failed to threaten the League One title-hopefuls for prolonged periods during the game, while their defending was at times also found wanting.

Ferguson does not expect such lapses in performances and plans to axe a number of his starting players from plans for Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final first leg against derby rivals Manchester City.

The Scot had previously suggested he would offer youth a chance against City, but he said after the loss to Leeds: "We have a semi-final on Wednesday night and a lot of these players today won't be playing.

Insult
"You have to view that performance in its right light. I am shocked by the performance because our preparation for the game was very good.

"But we never got going. The quality of the passing and whole performance was bad."

He added: "Leeds had far bigger appetite than us. Human beings can always surprise you but we didn't expect that today.

"We didn't start right, Leeds got their goal and it was something to hold onto. We spoke about Beckford's pace up front and we were caught napping."

Ferguson could also not resist a dig at match official Chris Foy, believing there should have been more than the five minutes of added time at the end.

He said: "The referee gave five minutes (injury time).

"That is an insult to the game and the players out there."

i seem to remember that berbatovs first decent contribution came 74 minutes into the game when he dashed over 5 yards to rob a leeds player and play the ball forward to the left back accompanied by the ironic cheers of the old triffid faithful.
