The pitches are fine, same with Rovers, but the surrounding roads and pavements are absolutely awful. Its the police who have the main say in the matter and if they say its unsafe then the clubs have little choice but to cancel the match. I know that where I live, 10 minutes away from Blackburn, its nigh-on impossible to get there because buses aren't running and, as an obvious consequence, its also quite difficult getting around in a car.

Apparently parts of Manchester City Centre were closed off today as well due to them being deemed unsafe, so its not surprising that they've called the match off.
