I think he means their first goal mercedes. Arsenal started the better team. Not that it matters now.

i think the reason you dominated most of the game was because chelsea got an early goal and then set back and defended the majority of the game. i don't think it was because you were necessarily the better team.
I highly doubt that, Arsenal have the ability to unlock teams like that and a team like Chelsea knows this more than any other.

Arsenal weren't that bad yesterday in general but we made two massive defensive errors and unfortunately they killed off the game early. I don't think Chelsea had many more chances after that. Which is odd, you'd think they'd just go for it like they did at the Emirates.

The performance was encouraging because Arsenal went for it, came up against a strong defence on a good day and couldn't break through. But at least we fought, which was a concern after what happened against United. We've had tendency in the past to have the wrong kinda attitude after a beating like that.

oh yeah, i get that stacie. the thing is as soon as chelsea scored they just tightened their defence and it was clear that arsenal couldn't break through it, aside from that one chance that arshavin had arsenal didn't look like they were gonna get one.

you doubt what cesc? the reason why i say arsenal weren't necessarily the better team was because your defence was a shambles and you couldn't get past their defence (that was more down to the fact that they had so many men in front of you everytime you went to attack, not through faults of the team). but when chelsea had opportunities to attack their football was really quite good. most teams have the ability to unlock a top team, but it doesn't always go down like that. the top teams this season have really felt that.

I think poor composure and finishin cost us again to be honest. Arshavin had a good chance, Diaby had a good chance, Nasri had a shot on target which got deflected off, Nasri had a one-on-one with the keeper, we had numerous corners, Fabregas had a free kick. It's not as if Arsenal didn't have their chances but if you can't finish, if you don't have the composure you are not going to score.

yeah, it was a shame because i thought with so much possession you could have got a goal or two. it was weird watching chelsea sit back and defend though for most the game for a change. i do think its important to take on the fact that you improved from your game against us. i think you'll get at least a point against liverpool.

I don't think the defense was a shambles at all apart from the goals. I even commented to Steve, "its amazing how those 2 goals were conceded considering how organised the defense look today and how well we have kicked off." I think Drogba's 2nd even Song was nowhere to be seen, much like the first one and the defense could do nothing except draw back with him.
As much as I usually sing Song's praises, I think he had a horrific game.

The mentality but they should have stopped that second goal from Drogba if they had learnt their lesson from last week.

Like I just said, Song's fault

I don't think Arsenal have learned, but at least they didn't look beaten from the jump. Gives us a more positive outlook on the rest of the season.

I don't think the whole 'not experienced' jibe is true anymore either, we were beaten by a team who tactically won the game and were better in that respect, not beaten by 'more experience'

It's not experience, it's maturity. Chelsea and Man United played a relaxed and calm game. Ours was panicked, rushed, desperate at times. Wild shooting, overhit passing. Going two goals down against a lesser team, Arsenal can handle - oh and how many times this year so far have we conceded first??? - but against stronger teams, we get in trouble because these teams are more confident of holding onto a lead.

Yep and the frontline proved to be not good enough against the better teams. Apparently Wenger has spoken positively about Chamakh again so dunn owhy he didn't buy him in January, knowing RvP was out for a while.

Something about Bordeaux not allowing him to leave. Still in the CL, right?
