Scholes off and giggs stays on. What the fork?!?!?
Scholes is one of the last people you need on when down to 10 men.

Thought United did well, pretty much dominated Villa even with a player less. Just couldn't find a way through.

Evra couldn't handle Young on the left, surprised he didn't get at least a yellow. Rooney's passing was shite.

Dont think anyone was up to much tonight. How Giggs stayed on so long is beyond me, he was dire. Rooney had moments. Poor from United.

rooneys dribbling was fantastic got round players with ease but his passing really let down his performance, i thought rafael had a really good game stuck to his defensive duties and got forward occasionally, fletcher and carrick bossed the midfield and giggs was just woeful

Yup Fletcher and Carrick did well and was mainly the reason United had so much posession.

Don't know why everybody's having a go at Valencia, he wouldn't have been on the pitch if Nani hadn't dived in. Nani didn't look great either before the red card.

I'm a naughty boy
He told Sky Sports: "It's a red card - he's gone in double footed and you can't do that.

"It was a naive tackle, he's not a malicious player as we know but nonetheless it left the referee with no option.

"The funny thing is we felt [we should have got a foul] seconds before it when Gabriel Agbonlahor went in with his foot raised on Wes Brown.

"We didn't get the foul, the ball goes into the direction where Nani tackles and I'm afraid it was a bad bit of luck for us."

Ferguson brought on Antonio Valencia at half-time to play on the right to compensate for Nani’s dismissal and the United boss was delighted with the substitute.

He added: "I must say Valencia coming on was absolutely brilliant. He did fantastic.

"I think in fact he changed the game for us. He started penetrating and beating the left full-back time and time again."
