indeed but games are won over 2 legs united have no reason to have a go at milan by playing an open game, in fact, that will only benefit milan as they will be able to use the width of that massive pitch. if united go with 2 ball winning cm and a dm then they can shut out their creativity and make this a dull game they will go for a draw but hope to nick an odd goal here or there as they will create at least 1 chance. take the game back to old toilet in front of the home fans and then rampage over them like they did to arsenal last season |

Not letting Milan win otherwise they will just come to Old Trafford and sit back in the second leg and be more difficult for United to break down. Fergie will no want the away goal but will be cautious of Milan scoring. |

none of that makes any sense and doesn't reflect the way Utd have played there the last 3 times they've played there lol. And this Milan midfield is older and worse than it's ever been, no need to shut them out. Also, who said anything about leaving the wide areas open??? Doesn't make sense at all mate. |

keep the game compact keep having ball winners and make this a rough game. 4-5-1, pack the cm, keep it real real right at the back, absorb any pressure and look for the odd chance through a counter attack where have you been for the last 2 years mate when united played away from home in the cl

Think we will go 4-5-1 Rooney up top with Nani and Park supporting whilst also dropping deep to help the defence. Fletcher, Carrick and Scholes in CM. Back 5 of VDS, Neville (experience factor) Evra, Rio and Evans. I think we can keep a clean sheet aslong as we can stop Pirlo from dictating. BUT we must score, even if its a draw. |

spot on but it would not surprise me if anderson started for his energy, 2 of the cm will have to cover a hell of a lot of ground |

Maybe, but I doubt it as he hasnt been in any of the recent squads. Might stick him on Pirlo though to nulify him. |

You're right generally that's how Utd have played, but I think you'll find the last 3 times they've played at the San Siro they've played a much more attacking game. No disrespect but you're taking a blanket view of Utd's away games in Europe. Look against Inter, Porto, Arsenal. Utd will be defensive, cagey, compact, annoying but it depends on the teams they're up against, usually ones they're not sure about or who have real quality all over the pitch especially in midfield. Otherwise they will go out to attack as in the games mentioned above. Anyway, I'm confident of how they'll come out so we'll wait and see. |

Yeah, I think he and Nani will play behind Rooney as the LWF and RWF. Nani for his pace and creative spark and park for his work rate. |

I personally would have played Anderson in this game. His energy to get around the pitch and hassle the ageing Milan midfield would have come in handy |

Says they don't know why Anderson has been left out as well. Think Giggs's experience could be a big miss here. Reckon Scholes will play for sure. |
