You don't know that any other manager and players wouldn't react the same way if they had two serious injuries in about two years - and have a reputation for being weak and easy to bully. The pundits and media can make a big deal out of Arsenal being easily beaten if roughed up - yet Arsenal can't? It's real easy to point at Arsenal and make a big deal of it (and a lot of people have) but if two injuries in two years happened to any other club, I believe you would get the same thing - some people saying "it happens" and some people looking for something more sinister. Supporters have very selective memories though and are fickle. People will cuss Arsenal today, but the next time they come up against a rough team and get kicked about they'll put down some hard whinging about it too. I saw 'pool supporters at it yesterday across the internet. |

He didn't comment on it at all? Because I don't remember Wenger 'banging on' about it either, I do recall a journalist asking and him responding. |

Im sorry but Wenger moans about it every other week it seems like. Cant go a game half the time without him mentioning that his team gets roughed up. |

I'm sorry but make up your mind You were the one brought up Liverpool's past serious injuries and this Houllier person not banging on about them in particular.Wenger does moan when his team gets kicked about, usually out of being a sore loser, but... his team does get kicked a lot. The conception that you have to rough up Arsenal sometimes to stop them winning hasn't exactly come from nowhere, has it? It is quite frequent and he probably overreacts to it quite a bit but it's not a figment of his imagination, either. Maybe this Houllier bloke never complained when his players were broken up, I have no idea. What that's got to do with Wenger, I have no idea. |

That Wenger has a victim complex - and it goes through his whole team. No other manager moans about there team being bullied. I was using Houllier as one of the examples. And i was adding to the statement about the fact Arsenal have had 3 injuries, while we had 5 and got on with it. Edited by RubberToe, Mar 2 2010, 12:27 AM.

That's great, but Arsenal are getting on with it, got on with it after Diaby, after Eduardo and will keep getting on with it. This aint some competition, 'we had more than you, we reacted better, we got on with it'. I think people are bitching about Wenger at the wrong time - yes he complains but remember, he IS a sore loser and generally he only moans about the physical side when it costs him either a player or points, so evidently not as often as people are trying to make out. Perhaps it's his fault that his team is kinda weak, I dunno. But now, when one of his players does actually get badly injured, people are still bitching two days later because he's moaned. They are making up more fuss about Wenger and Arsenal than Wenger and Arsenal are. Would have said this was maybe the time for him to have a bit of a whinge. Anyone would think he'd spent the last two days going on about it. |

No i dont think so - i dont remember him moaning as much, if at all, when he had all the english players in his team to choose from (as well as Paddy Viera). Its only in the last couple of years when his team are getting battered and not winning anything. And i never said anything about the timeline in which he continues moaning about it it always first thing after the match in most cases. Maybe in a press conference a couple of days later or a pre-match conference before the next match.

Yeah, it's generally sour grapes that leads him to complain. I don't think anyone moans more about what some of Wenger says more than I do tbh but in this instance people are ignoring the fact that the man may just have been feeling a tad fed up after the game for some reason... His team isn't as strong physically as they used to be so obviously he will be complaining more now than back in the day. I think people are just using this situation to vent their dislike towards Wenger really, which is understandable. |

Which conspiracy theories? That teams are physical with Arsenal? Funny how it's only a conspiracy when it comes from Wenger though.... the rest of the time when supporters are laughing and joking about it, pundits are talking about it, the newspapers are writing about it, it's accepted. |

He said that teams set out to 'get in the face' of the players, which is true, and not necessarily a bad thing. Not that teams are instructed to or want to injure them. |
