fifa.com laws of the game
"If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues
holding him inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick."
Thats one of the most stupid things FIFA have ever said, so by that logic if a player gets fouled and rolles 5 yards futher down the pitch the free kick is from where they stop rolling

Holding an opponent
Holding an opponent includes the act of preventing him from moving past or
around using the hands, the arms or the body.
Referees are reminded to make an early intervention and to deal fi rmly with
holding offences especially inside the penalty area at corner kicks and free
kicks.
To deal with these situations:
• the referee must warn any player holding an opponent before the ball is in
play
• caution the player if the holding continues before the ball is in play
• award a direct free kick or penalty kick and caution the player if it happens
once the ball is in play
If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues
holding him inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick.
Disciplinary sanctions
• A caution for unsporting behaviour must be issued when a player holds
an opponent to prevent him gaining possession of the ball or taking up an
advantageous position
• A player must be sent off if he denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity
by holding an opponent
• No further disciplinary action must be taken in other situations of holding
an opponent
Did you download that just so you could prove LFC wrong

masch wasnt still holding him inside of the box

he held him outside then let go inside and then grabbed him again

first offence was outside, therefore the first foul was outside of the box and it should have been a free kick?
no

That's not what the law says.

From looking at that rule BoyElNino, it means that if such a foul is still happening in the box, regardless of where it started, it's a penalty. It's not like someone getting fouled outside the box and rolling in

No that's not what it's saying. It's saying that if a player is STILL being fouled in the box the ref should give a penalty. Clearly, it's not about where the player being fouled stops, it's about the player making the foul continuing to make it in the penalty area.

foul committed outside box, same foul still being committed inside the box penalty is given.

foul committed outside box, player ends movement inside box but is no longer being fouled, free kick given.

So correct decision. Liverpool lost because they didn't play well enough, not down to poor refereeing decisions. You even got loads of extra time to get an equaliser but didn't take advanteg. So that's 2 myths about OT and referees busted today :p

I no that im just saying if your fouled outside the box its outside weather your still being fouled inside the foul took place outside, if there going to do that should the rule change for evve tackle.

Not aimed at todays game btw just a stupid rule if you ask me

What two myths would they be, utd get decisions at home and they generally have more added time then other teams? yep they were spot on today
