Wenger moaning about the players around the goalkeeper...

Quote:

"There is no purpose to play the ball from the Blackburn players - they don't even watch the ball," he said.

"He (Fabianski) had two players in front of him all the time and every time it was to stop him getting the ball.

"In football when you don't go for the ball and you stop the keeper going for the ball it is a foul.

"I think the referee cannot allow that. I am very disappointed the referee lets that happen in a football game, it is unfair to a goalkeeper.

"They (Blackburn) do it well but when you feel that as a referee you have to give more protection.

"It doesn't take away the fact we weren't good but that is completely unfair."

Not the way Blackburn were doing it, they just stood there and it's up to the keeper to move them out of the way.

 The one time he did give a foul against the keeper it was never in a million years a foul - his own player took Fabianski out!

We didn't challenge the keeper and take him out but we obstructed his view and made it difficult for him. You can't protect a keeper for that, its within the rules of the game.

Footyfan, first of all, your team IS dirty. They showed that right through the first half of that game, yanking and hacking down our players. They simply could not afford to keep doing it for the rest of the game. Eboue, twice in a few minutes got pulled down, same with Walcott as soon as he got past one of your defenders.

Secondly, how has an intelligent person like yourself managed to focus purely on the first two words of that sentence and completely disregard the words immediately following it?

To bring up a dirty team argument after that match is a farce Stacey - the team doing the most pushing and pulling was Arsenal but the referee didn't do anything about it a lot of the time. How Silvestre got away with barely letting go of Roberts all match is a mystery to me - he kept hold of it all match. I'll be honest, Andrews went in late a lot and Andrews could and possibly should have had more fouls given against him, but most of the fouls in the centre of the park were committed by Andrews being so fecking slow. Apart from him, our team really weren't as bad as you'd like to make out. We certainly received as bad as we were giving out today, and we have to play harder against the bigger teams. Firm but fair.

Regardless, as you said we did indeed deserve it. Arsenal misplaced a lot of passes which surprised me - we intercepted an awful lot of short passes in the match and broke forward a lot as a result. If we had two strikers rather than one we might've made more of it.

I now officially hate Van Persie too. He is a bigger cheat than Christiano Ronaldo and I don't say that likely. Every time he jumped for a header and lost, he went down holding his head. Or his leg.

Blackburn started off playing really dirty today. Our team can too, but at least I'll admit to it. Blackburn got away with a lot today, especially earlier on in the game - even to the point where the commentators were stating they were fortunate on a number of occasions.

I thought the Liverpool lot were overreacting after their game but today I was watching, shaking my head and thinking 'vintage Blackburn'. Sadly for us, it was also a case of 'vintage Arsenal.'

Props to Blackburn. Dirty team (our lot aint much better at times) but they fully deserved that. Our team was weak today and Blackburn went from blatant fouling to pretty legit 'bullying' once they realised that the yellow card offences weren't really needed. They must have seen what Wigan saw the other week - weak team, no creativity, even less spirit and thought 'hell, why not?'
Dirty team? Coming from an Arsenal fan on the back of that performance, that's awful. Silvestre should have seen red for consistent fouling and a couple of dirty ones and got away with murder, holding Roberts back constantly all match. There were some hearty challenges from Rovers but I really didn't think we were dirty - the worst challenges came from Arsenal.

Van Persie ought to be shot for his awful attempts at diving and pretending to be hurt all through the match every time anybody went near him. Indeed, Pedersen dived when we played you before but not that consistently - and he actually did you a favour today because one time when he was really hacked down late he got straight back up without trying to get the other player (who got carded) sent off - much unlike Arsenal did all match.

Was it a penalty? It was hard to tell at the match. Whatever the case though, it was a deserved win from Rovers and a good end to the season. Dunn's scored ten goals from less than 30 games in midfield, it was our 10th home win of the season and Dunn's 50th Rovers goal.
Did you not see the over the ball challenge from Pederson on Robin?

Or did you take a blind eye to it?

i think he was one of them blokes that slept through most of the match.first half from rovers was awful, holding, hacking, swinging arms at every highball and hoofing the ball into the box at every attempt.second half i thought rovers played better football than the arse.
ps, is it just me or did robinson look as bad as fabianski under the highballs?

Arsenal need to stop moaning about teams out muscling them.

The baffling part is since wenger knows that teams try to out muscle them, why the flip dont you sort the problem out by recruiting players that deal with that or alternatively get your lads lifting more weights and bulking up.

(It might be worth noting that Torres looks like a stick but i dont think anyone has ever seen him being out muscled by anyone, which basically means he can hold his own when it comes to the physical nature of the game)

Bottom line, quit moaning and sort it out from your end cus no one will do you any favours.
