Changing my tune since 2008.

Yes I saw that. I don't think we were a particularly clean team but I thought Arsenal put in more dangerous tackles. Pedersen's was one of the few bad challenges we put in. Campbell should've been booked within the first minute or two for absolutely hacking down Dunn - a tackle identical to the one Grella received a yellow for, but further out from goal. Silvestre has to be one of the dirtiest players I've seen play Blackburn so far this season and was lucky to stay on the pitch in all honesty. He was consistently dirty and fouled Roberts all throughout the match, and not all were just little niggly fouls for shirt pulling when he never let go of Roberts' shirt. We were certainly no less dirty than Arsenal over the course of the match and we did less 'serious' fouls from what I saw. It just helped Arsenal that our players had the decency not to roll around for hours. It was 20 fouls to 16, and equal on yellows - even though it definitely shouldn't have been as Arsenal deserved more cards for dirty challenges. |
