Should be 3-2. Samras went past Koscielny way too easily.

Massimiliano Allegri gives his team “6.5 out of 10” for their Emirates Cup performances in London.

“I am satisfied with what we have done over these two days,” he said of the 1-1 draws with Arsenal and Olympique Lyonnais.

“I’d give the team 6.5 out of 10. The thing I liked the most was the defensive movement, as we looked pretty organised.

“Another thing that left me pleasantly surprised was the mentality of everyone. They did not treat this as a friendly tournament.”

Alexandre Pato clawed back the result against Arsenal, while today Marco Borriello had given Milan the lead over Lyon.

“What I didn’t like, however, was that we made the same mistakes as yesterday,” complained Allegri.

“When we lost the ball, too often we left ourselves open to the counter-attack. This should not happen.”

The results were impressive considering Milan fielded many youth team players and won’t start their Serie A season until the end of the month, whereas both Arsenal and Lyon begin in around 10 days.

“Having youngsters in the team is healthy, as they work hard and bring more enthusiasm.”
