You had 10 men from the start in fairness. Cole was anonymous for the time he was on the pitch.

Liverpool were bad but worryingly, Arsenal were even worse. I honestly cannot see Liverpool finishing in the top 4 this season and with Arsenal, we'll have to wait and see but I'd also guess not. I would say 5th and 6th and (wouldn't like to bet which way round) with, Spuds, City, Utd and Chelski making up the top 4 in no particular order.
if they play like toda all season both will be lower then that imo. obviously both teams will get better then they showed today though. So will 19 other teams in the league. I honestly believe Spurs and City are better teams - Spurs will do very well under Redknapp this season and City have a formidable team. Liverpool and Arsenal have key players that either don't want to be there or are very injury prone (Fabregas wants out in his heart, RVP is injury prone, Gerrard is injury prone, Torres is injury prone) and they will get better, but how much CAN they get better? I don't think they'll be up to the levels of previous seasons.

Altho it's way too early to make those sorts of predictions I agree with the rest. Liverpool are a team of battlers, but they lacked any creativity today. Arsenal were just all over the shop, couldn't make a telling pass. They looked badly in need of Fabregas today AND an instictive striker up front.
Tbf our main man was out, and our creative outlet which the formation relys heavily upon, was sent off. Can't see how anyone can right us off after that. I said it before the start of the season. Just to confirm.
Rosicky looked quite good when he came on.
Still see both teams outside top 4.

Liverpool will finish in the top 4. Arsenal haven't a hope though.
i dont get how you can draw that conclusion from that game
I haven't drawn it from that game. I said before the season kicked off I don't think Arsenal would be in the top 4. Anoher CB and a keeper is desperately needed. It looks like Schwarzer will come in, he's a decent keeper and more reliable then what you currently have, but he isn't good enough for a club like Arsenal. Cesc was key for you last year, and I don't believe he'll have a season as good as last year. We all know he doesn't want to be at the club and I can see that affecting his performances. RVP will have to be relied on heavily to stay fit and the chances are he won't. cool. and liverpool?

I was talking about the first half before Cole got sent off. Your midfield battle and win the ball but once they have they didn't know what to do with it, hence why Arsenal got it straight back again. Arsenal were there own worst enemy, dawdled on the ball and getting closed down, mis-directed passes or just unable to break down the dogged 9 Liverpool men behind the ball, and all of that was in the first half.
I agree tho it's first game, a difficult one and it's too early to make judgements about where anyone will finish.

I have thought they would both be displaced from the top 4 from the end of last season. Arsenal haven't really strengthened where they need to yet, and a good goalkeeper and a couple of other players will be key for their success. As for Liverpool, I just don't think they're that good.

Cole;s tackle was bad but in fairness not a red.

cool. and liverpool? I think they'll finish fourth. They won't have any distractions in Europe and will be fully concentrating on the league unlike Arsenal and Spurs. Obviously the manage is very important aswell, looks he has the support of all the players and they're all willing to play for him unlike Rafa.

when a team gifts you a goal at the last minute, the other team will feel robbed
imagine if you were 1-0 up and almunia does that, you would feel the same
this is a defeat tbh
