Harry Redknapp thought referee Mark Clattenburg 'made a mess' of handling Manchester United's second goal in Tottenham's 2-0 defeat and branded it a 'scandalous' decision.
A seething Redknapp said: "What a farcical way to finish a game. It's a handball, he's deliberately handled it and it should have been a booking.

"Everyone has seen him do it so we think it's a free-kick, it's just the referee that doesn't see it.

"Everyone saw him do it so it's a free-kick. You can't lie on the floor and pull the ball back just because you've got the hump because you didn't get a penalty.

"It was a scandalous decision and the referee has made a mess of it all."

Sir Alex Ferguson felt Heurelho Gomes 'should know better' following Manchester United's disputed second goal in the 2-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Ferguson felt Nani should have been awarded a penalty in the build-up to the incident and suggested it was an error from Gomes, rather than a mistake by the officials.
Bizarre

"It was bizarre," said the United manager. "No-one knew at the time what was wrong. One minute the goalkeeper had the ball in his hands and next it's in his net.

"Nani looked back and looked at the referee and the referee said play on, so what can he do but put the ball in the net.

"You can look at the referee and look at the linesmen and blame them, but the goalkeeper should know better. He's an experienced goalkeeper. I thought he made a mess of it.I thought it was a penalty first of all and I think Nani felt he handled the ball. But the referee didn't blow for it.

"The referee played on because the goalkeeper took possession of the ball. He then went to take a free-kick thinking it was a foul. He made an error."

"I thought it was a penalty first of all and I think Nani felt he handled the ball. But the referee

Nani celebrating his 'goal' like he had won the WC, just sums up what kind of guy he is.

Anyone remember this?

It's the way he celebrated, which I found embarrassing. And my vid just shows that it's not the first time that Spuds have been robbed at OT.

Giving a corner is completely different ffs it didn't impact the game in a way like a goal would. But tbh you're not going to go against Utd anyway so there's no point in continuing this.
This is what's so disappointing debating anything with you. Any convo and you go to "FFS" and cheap shots about bias. You've totally missed the point I was making and ignored the rest of the post as well. No point carrying this on Paddy as you can't seem to debate without stupid comments sometimes.
 You've spent the whole conversation taking cheaps digs at lfc, calling him abu, posting images etc. When his point was right, wasn't even a dig at utd, was a dig at the ref. Just look up the page, you say to me the ref didn't make a mistake, then you agree with Stacie in your next post that he did then list a load of others  Just completely biased toward utd and if we keep going you'll just keep trying to justify it even though your wrong.
just about to say the above, treble you hypocrite

tbf viva and treb do make a cute couple
You say that while you have your head up paddy's arse  idiot.
head up his ass?, read my comments in the past few pages, christ you have the memory of a dog

was making them before he commented
What's that got to do with the price of sugar? And of you were making them before he commented why'd you say you were about to post it :S

Any time paddy disagrees with a united fan you jump on it and usually post something like ' exactly' or something equally pointless.
Whats the price of sugar got to do with it pal?

cant believe i just read 9 pages of bollox

was dipping in and out of the game yesterday. sounds like typical nani behaviour but i feel like the article IRL posted pretty much sums up my thoughts.

on another note, lfc, when you come into a thread with moronic comments about how the whole world and his pet hamster are on united's side you know you are gonna ask for trouble. at the end of the day refs mess up on a continuous basis, as do keepers. there's a lot of keeper blunders going on since green at the world cup  odd. anyway sh!t happens, i'm glad we were winning the game before the second goal or i reckon there would have been a lot more arguing and wumming in this thread :p

Yeah it didn't really affect the result that much, but if you can't talk about incidents in a game then what's the point of these threads?

robbed  it was 2-0 ffs if that goal hadnt counted it still would have been 1-0 spurs never looked like scoring after the 1st goal and 50+ mins, what makes you think they were going to score in th last few mins,or are you just trying to use this incident to discredit a good utd win <_<

The better team won regardless of the disputed goal I am certain of that 1-0, 2-0 we'd have won either way

i never said we cant talk about incedents :(

that was just in relation to the standard idiot comments about how all the refs are united fans. im not disagreeing with all the other comments made.

its a shame because lfc (i hope you read this) sometimes actually has the cabability to have a decent debate about football. but when he comes out with his standard wum comments about how the world and their mums are united fans i just cant take the rest of his comments seriously, or stomach them to be honest, even if he is speaking sense

dont you start that with me young man
