O yer, I forgot all those times spurs have beaten us

lennon would have had no end product as well
We're talking about personal battles so neither of those points are valid at all. Lennon has tore Evra a new arsehole most times they've played each other. Lennon knows that he has the beatings of Evra, and so does Evra.

If he's seen Maicon get his ass handed to him as consistently as that I want to know the player, team and date, because that's the first time I've ever seen Maicon get his arse handed to him throughout a match.

Might win the CL - might have got 5 on another night :) :thumb:

However, I can't see many people giving much credit to Spurs here, except to Bale  :spank: . Was he the only one on the park or, as suspected, do most so called football fans on here only really spot the obvious stuff, but couldn't analyse a game objectively and understand the dynamics of it?

Anyone who says that Maicon and / or Inter were poor last night just because they didn't win was not watching - and again not giving credit to the Spurs MF who closed Inter down high up the pitch and drove their MF and Fbs back where they posed less threat than normal. Maicon got caned by a particularly good Bale performance - it happens. 2 Man Utd RBs and Rio had it too the other day but because Utd won, no one mentions it !

All in all tho - this has been another in a list of 'Glory Glory Nights' at The Lane, and a stab in the eye to those (conveniently absent) know-it-alls :moon: who said that Spurs would never finsih 4th, or get through qualifying, or score a goal or win a game in the groups etc etc AND were going to embarass English football ! pahahahaha   :thumb: :champion: :woo: :runaway: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

2 wins and a draw, no losses, a hatful of goals, very possible qualification into KO stages - and who knows from there ? It doesn't matter really, we have already exceeded most expectations :birthday: (certainly those of the shed4brains), and have done what we said that we would - enjoy it come what may.

Had a great 3 days, 23 hours and 47 mins in Milan last week (13 mins or so were a bit gritty !!) and have just relived my 20's with a FANTASTIC night at The Lane, with my 20 year old who is still buzzing ! :kiss2:  Me, a bit jaded after a heavy night, but one happy bunny !!!! Love and peace to you all

my god people cant actually read, you are going on about maicon getting his arse handed to him, all I was saying was he was never a good defender in the first place. the majority of the hype about him is for his attacking ability, like alves at barca. it really didn't surprise me that a player with a lot of pace took the p*** out of him

he is constantly to far up the pitch, but when teams set up with 10 players behind the ball that is fine. or if the winger doesnt have pace to burn as maicons pace recovers a lot for his bad positioning

its like glen johnson at pompey, everyone thought he was brilliant, goes to liverpool and suddenly getting caught out every week isnt good enough

how many teams in seria A play with out and out wingers like bale would be? and as dotty says, counter attacking football which wouldn't involve much wing play

sounds like you had fun crafty, harry is building a strong side and the last game will surely help spurs attract more big name talent from other leagues

I've seen Maicon at least 30 times since the start of last season, that is pure bollox tbh. He has pace, positional sense, nous for when to and when not to dive in. He is the ultimate fullback

Some players just have other players numbers, A. Cole always had a good game v Ronaldo and Essien always has a good game against Fabregas, iirc.
generally its the defensive players to get one over on the attacking players. honestly if Maicon was the "ultimate" fullback he would not have been destroyed twice in 2 weeks by the same player. he should have changed his whole game to stop that happening, especially an away game. evra and ashley cole are both far more complete full backs. Maicon has the advantage of not actually having any other decent right backs about at the moment.

i would take him at united, the way united play his defensive quality would not be tested too often, like at inter.

I don't watch much of the Italian league, but when it was on channel 5 every week a few seasons ago(probably getting onto 5 now) the league was so slow paced and teams had a lot of players behind the ball with slow build up, not very entertaining and possibly why channel 5 didn't bother with renewing the contract the season after
Aaron Lennon vs Evra? Is evra a myth too?
also, pennant v a.cole ;)
