Had to be either Lucas or Torres but Lucas gets it for me. He was just immense for the full 90 minutes. Broke up play brilliantly, loads of tackles without giving away freekicks, played some excellent forward passes all game and was the only one who seemed calm and collected whilst defending towards the end.

forkING YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Was up in the girls house for Sunday dinner so watched the match with her dad, felt like I was trying to hold in an orgasm all day, bloody torture. Amazing performance, absolutely outstanding! I know anyone who didn't watch the game will look at possesion stats and say we were s**t, but we had a cracking game plan and stuck to it really well. Full credit to Roy today, got it spot on, string a few more wins together Roy and maybe, just maybe..

I never normally do match ratings but I feel like each player deserves a shout out so here goes.

Reina: Keep us in the game with that save, couldn't believe it. However he did have a few shaky moments. No idea what that jump was about, I can only assume he thought Sturridge was going to chip him 7/10
Kelly: What a monster this lad is! Ball on the floor, ball in the air, doesn't matter to him because he's taking it. I think I counted 3 interceptions in the first half? Boss game from him and if there was ever any doubts he's got talent, they've been quashed 8/10
Carragher: Oh how I've slated him recently. Organised the defence so well today, and kept people concentrating. That slide was immense and if it had went in, I doubt we would have held on. Soto must be crying seeing his performace today. Jamies not finished yet 7/10.
Skrtel: All over the place at times, panicing on the ball and he's really lucky he got a free kick for that misjudged header. Scrapes a 6/10.
Konchesky: As expected when signed, we got a solid left back. Nothing spectacular, but he did his job well. Great energy from him too, his full on sprint to provide an option on the overlap late on was pure heart. 7/10.

Meireles: This guy gets better every week. Great on the ball, good vision, hard worker and is pretty good defensively. Worked hard, done his job well and got an assist to boot, well in son. 7/10.
Gerrard: Is he proving his doubters wrong or what?! Not disciplined enough to play in CM, you what you what?! Boss from him again, got on the ball so much and did his utmost to win it back when we didn't have it 8/10.
Lucas: Just wow. What has got into him this year? He looks so different, even in his passing. He's looking up, laying it off quickly, and playing it forward. If Nando hadn't scored 2 he would undoubtedly be man of the match. 9/10.
Maxi: How often do you hear of a South American, technically good player, tracking back for a whole 90 minutes? He's starting to make himself a permanent feature in the team and I was really glad to hear a few chants of the Maxi song. 7/10.

Kuyt: It's about time to admit he's a cyborg, how on earth he was fit for this is beyond me. Once again he assists for Torres to break the deadlock. He has more assists to Torres than any other player since the Spainard has been in England, and to think people say he breaks down moves and isn't creative. What a ball for the goal. As usual we got the energy and pressing he gives. 7/10
Torres: Have to laugh at the people writing him off this year. Best striker in the Premier league. Think that's his tally uptp 4 goals and 5 assists in 10 games. a hand in 9 goals in 10 apperances, and the best bit.."He's off form and struggling for fitness". How anyone can write us out of the top four race when we have quality like him just shows how blind some people can be. forking delighted for you today son. MOTM 9/10.

Was great to see Roy chuck on 3 youngsters as his subs too, well in old man
