Actually I think it's more likely you'd have heard about a loan than a sale. Sales can be done very quickly and privately. The news did come all of a sudden after all. If someone from the Galzers was going looking for a £200mil+ loan it would probably be all over the papers.

not really, if they found a bank, all they had to do with sign papers to keep it indoor

a sale would go through various processes which would be known world wide mate

our owners kept the loan a secret till the documents came out remember, it was kept under the rug for a good few months

Nah I disagree, they'd be looking around for the best rates they could get and it'd take a while to process. If someone came to them whith an offer for one of their assets it could be done very quickly. But a loan is still the most likely source of the finance. It would be great if it was a new investor though.

they obv have looked at various sources, before discussions take place, they sign the papers to keep it indoor

for example

nesv, its clear they have taken a loan out on nesv to buy lfc, they put the debt on nesv, you can tell from their interview but you aint seen on shred of proof in the media

a 200m sale would make news, there are company papers, director changes in company houses and so on for a sale of that magnitude to go through

they are just moving the debt off united to try and improve public image. they wont use their own money to pay off £200m unless they increase their executive fees to recoup the cost. so united will be paying either way.

I dunno monty, you could be right but it just seems that an asset worth around £200m suddenly disappearing from the Glazers' possession would be hard to keep quiet, especially when it becomes clear someone else is in control of it and using it. I would imagine it wouldn't be easy to hide an asset of £200m, let alone broker a deal and sell it off without any whispers from anywhere :S

I think the thing that makes me think it's a loan is the secrecy around it, which is hardly solid evidence but never mind :D While fans would still worry slightly if they've taken another loan, the Glazers wouldn't need to be so shady over selling an asset off, surely? Maybe they won the lottery
