Givet ad Pederson as well who are 2 big players for them, but when they can bring in nelsen to replace one of them club captain not really much of an argument. Goulon is the only real anomaly IMO

Why is it ridiculous?

You were outclassed from minute 1 through to 90.

Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Nelsen, Chimbonda, Emerton, Jones, Goulon, Dunn, Diouf, Roberts.

Not so much a second string is it really..
Thats an experienced team
The quote about Robinson was ridiculous. He's been a very consistent goalkeeper for us.

Chimbonda hasn't played since goodness knows when, Emerton, Dunn and Diouf have all been injured within the last week, Goulon has played about 1 match in the PL and Roberts is shocking. Effectively, we had no midfield. We were without Pedersen, our standout creative source, and had a team incredibly low on match fitness which, when you are playing Man Utd, is not a good situation to be in. The back line was solid but beyond that we were always going to be shaky because the players have very little match fitness or in Goulon's case, experience.

I don't know; Chimbonda, Goulon and Roberts would never be in the team on merit if we had a fully fit squad. Maybe second string was an exaggeration but with match fitness of the midfield taken into account it may as well have been - Dunn hasn't really played at all this season, Diouf has been out for a few weeks, Emerton was just coming back to form and got a hamstring strain a couple of weeks back and all of a sudden half of our team is second rate, if not second string. That's not to say the team isn't talented but any team with so many players lacking match fitness is going to get battered when at OT - many full strength, full fitness sides lose 3-0 at OT let alone when they're all off the pace.

I praised Robinson FF....

So you had some players unfit. Rooney, Rafael, Anderson having not long come back from lay offs.

End of the day we dominated a very near full strength side in the EPL. Don't try and butter it up any oter way. The best team won convincingly. 7-1 was flattering to Blackburn.

I'm pretty sure you'll find that I said you'd have beaten our best side comfortably, especially with the form you were in. I'm not trying to belittle the result and say it was trivial but Rovers' injury problems will have caused the scale of the defeat to be much larger than if we had a relatively fit squad out to play you. Berbatov was on fire and your team clicked. (Also bear in mind that £30m Rooney coming back from injury is slightly different to Brett Emerton and El Hadji Diouf coming back from injury...). Man Utd are better than Rovers and it should hopefully tell the owners we need investment - when our squad is down to the bare bones and when we get some injuries we simply can't cope.

You blamed it on players being out and a second string side

On that day any team would've been battered. Like I said 7-1 was flattering... To Blackburn.

You clearly didn't read what I put then.

I'm not trying to hide behind the fact Blackburn had a second string side to field and saying that's the reason why we lost because even taking that into account, 7-1 is absolutely pathetic. It does, however, go to give a little context. Unfortunately it will pile pressure on from the Indian owners who probably already want to get rid of Allardyce, a man who has done a fantastic job at Blackburn.

What I said is that you should've battered us regardless of what team we put out but that the extent that you battered us to was stupid and not representing our full potential. I think that's a fair comment to make to be honest, surely even you as a United fan can admit that it would have been 4-0 or something if we had our first choice team. I'm hardly trying to claim we wouldn't have been battered but 7-1 is extreme and there were reasons for such an extreme battering, even if the lack of enthusiasm from some players was inexcusable.

Doesn't matter what team u put out. Sometimes it's just not your day. I remember when united got battered by Southampton over a decade ago and that was a pretty full strength team. But it just was one of them days and we deserved to be battered

And what would've changed if you would've had 2/3 more first teamers? United on that form were going to destroy anyone. I read what you put first.
