it wasn't the defence that impressed me really, it was how we controlled the game, i was utterly shocked by how good we were, our best away performance in a long long long time

i am certain will win next week if we perform the same way

great result that

lucas puts in another good shift, babel lively, ngog frustrates, meireles was every where, defence looked solid enough although villa look blunt at best in attack, little desire all over the pitch at times

Ireland was trotting round like a lazy shite
the attack was the least of our worries.

the defence was so bad, couldnt win a header against 2 midgets and gave the ball away far too cheaply. 2nd half was better but not by much.

we flattered liverpool far too much i midfield and they had ages to play football. i think most championship teams would have beat us last night...

oh and that was one of irelands better games

Liverpool have been flattered in their last two performances against two woeful teams. But the results alone might give the players the confidence to keep it going but we'll see how they do when they face a decent team.
to be honest, although our last game before Villa was against Spurs, i do agree with you.

A lot of our last 2 wins was due to the other team being so poor, but now it is suddenly Roy is getting his team playing how he wants them to play.. sorry but that aint true at all.

I was disappointed in Roy though that he didn't include Paceho in the squad for the game though, he would of loved to have played yesterday. certainly better prospect then Joe Cole.

I didn't see yesterdays match, but the spurs and west ham matches Mirelese was excellent in CM, an excellent buy even though I don't think it was a Hogdson buy, a far more rounded player than Gerrard for the role, keeps it nice and simple and has sparked up a good, on pitch, relationship with Lucas.

The problem will come when Gerrard is fit again, hopefully(for you liverpool fans) Roy has enough sense not to put Mirelese back out on the wing
