the mistake was made not to sack him 1 month ago, giving the new manager time in the jan window, now we have cornered ourselves big time
I thought u said that Roy is no longer in charge of purchases but Commoli was? Shdn't matter who the manager is then? You've got until 31st Jan which is plenty of time tbf.
the manager certainly has a say, its basically like united, not being allowed to buy anyone over 27, if you are spending big money it has to be on someone who has resell value and good potential

our chief is basically like our chief scout, provides a list of players, dif mangers may choose different ones

too bad the media kept on this nice man act, forking assholes
hmmm don't think having a policy of not buying anyone over 27 is the same as saying manager doesn't have a say in buying players :S I thought it meant that sporting director finds player and owner or club CE decides if you buy them and then manager has toaccept it.

I still think any new manager has enough time to bring in the players he wants, even if you appoint someone new on Jan 1st he'd still have plenty of time, but it depends on who the manager is to attract those players and make it happen.

woy is not in charge of transfers

THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE IS

but the manager always has a say just a lesser say with this approach

you gotta use some common sense, you cant be like one of those 5 year olds who need instructions to do everything do you?

You do have a habit of making it up as you go along LFC. I think you were probably hoping that Roy wouldn't have a say when Commoli was appointed but you are right now, he has to have some say in it.

If it was 50-50 then they wouldn't have brought this guy in in the role he is in. He'd just be another scout.

of course its 50-50, its common sense

if one does not want a player, the player will not arrive

both have to agree on the deal treble, its fair to say he isnt really in charge I would say. nesv have said, they want money spent wisely, so anyone coming in has to have good potential and resell value

also it seemed they wanted players to come in that wont be shipped out if staff changes are made

Real madrid, Barce, Ac, Inter, Juve, Bayern and many other clubs have to accept it

I think it would be more like - Roy: Go get me a RW. And Comolli will go out and buy one. He has signed players over managers heads before, there is nothing to say he won't be doing it again.

Well I was expecting that response but there's a big difference between those clubs you've mentioned and Liverpool. A lot of different factors which make it possible there but not here.

he will to a certain extent like young players who are 18-19

but he already said he gets a list of players and if roy doesnt like the look of any he takes them off, then they will decide together on a target

What happens if Roy wants to add anyone different to the list?
