The media here is making a big deal about trying to right the wrongs from our floggin in Durban at last years World Cup. Seriously though getting humiliated 4-0 in a World Cup and playing s**t can't be undone by beating a second string German team in a friendly, even on German soil.

Cahill's out, but we're fielding a relatively full strength team by the sounds of it they on the other hand are experimenting with fringe players after the 4-0 Euro qualifier win over Kazakhstan on the weekend.

The vibe around the Socceroos is much improved since the appointment of Holger Osieck and we're playing much better football to be honest it's probably the best football in terms of entertainment value we've played since Venables.

The results of friendlies don't matter s**t but it's always a matter of pride so far as performance goes. I don't mind if the boys get beat tonight so long as they don't play like a rabble like they did in Germany last June.

I could watch it if I was seriously interested but a friendly isnt worth getting up for then, especially as I have a compulsory education lecture at 10am

Australia win 2-1

Mario Gomez opened the scoring for the Germans after 26 minutes and the held the lead until 15 minutes into the 2nd half when David Carney levelled the match with a well taken goal. Then 3 minutes later Harry Kewell took the loveliest of dives to earn a spot kick which Luke Wilkshire coolly put away.

Wake up to see we beat them

To be honest, no one really cares though. Just a friendly game, which we try and win to be impressive yet the other country obviously isnt going to risk all their stars

Germany should be able to beat us with their 2nd and 3rd string sides they are a football powerhouse, we are just a lightweight our best is good enough to compete but that's all. I just like the way Osieck is going about the job.

I think it's daft that we had the Asian Cup in January but then it's probably because we have to go cap in hand to the European clubs of our players and ask them release them.
