QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt has been named the Championship Player of the Year, with Ipswich striker Connor Wickham taking the Young Player of the Year award.

Taarabt, who joined Rangers on a permanent deal at the start of the season, has been the inspiration behind QPR's rise to the top of the table, scoring 15 goals and claiming 15 assists for the London club.

"It's fantastic for me. I'm very happy and I'm very proud that I'm the Championship's best player," he told Sky Sports. "I've found a good manager who believes in me and trusts me a lot. We have a great squad, all around the club they help me. It's been a fantastic season."

Ipswich forward Wickham, still only 17, has scored six goals in 18 starts for the club this season and has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

"It's amazing," Wickham said. "To even be nominated was amazing, so to win it is even better. Things can only go forward from here."

Meanwhile, Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith was named the League One Player of the Year and Bury's Ryan Lowe took the League Two award

GOAT.
I haven't seen too much of him but its clear from the little I have that he is too greedy and need a lot of time on the ball. Its clear he has the ability bit he needs to learn to play as part of the team more.
