Today Toure was given a (backdated) 6 month ban, other cases seen PAddy Kenny banned for 9 months, Ferdinand banned for 8 months....Where do they pull these figures from?? Should there be a standard ban, and how long should it be?

Don't be stupid. Banned for life for offences like Toure's and Kenny's is pathetic.

No it's not. happens in cycling. If you take drugs that may enhance your performance you should be banned for life. Also i would like you not to call my opinion stupid, If I believe in something I will voice it and I would quite like to be able to do that without fear or being called stupid of having beliefs, cheers.

Not all drugs enhance your performance, so yeah it is stupid. And if taken accidentally then of course they shouldn't be banned for life.

Should depend on the situation, the drug in question etc. But there certainly needs to be more consistency. Rio got 8 months for missing one. Mutu got less for testing positive for a grade A drug.

You said life ban for doping offences. It is too grey an area to hand out life bans as standard - which was the topic.

Could have sworn performance enhancing would have narrowed it down.
