just watching an old liverpool dvd of his first season at liverpool

never mind his goalscoring exploits its easy to forget this guy was an absolute nightmare for opposition running his ass off for lost causes ,chasing down goalkeepers who had received the back pass etc

it wasnt the same in his last year, i stuck up for him like an idiot but its plain to see he was not putting the same shift in

has he lost his hunger?

He probably has a little yea but he does still close down, he just does not do it to the same effect though. This season and for Chelsea you will have see him closing defenders down but unlike his early days with us he has no real desire to get the ball back . He does a lot of it for show he doesnt actually tackle when he gets near the defenders

add that to the fact he has lost half a yard of pace and his touch has deserted him a little. I cant recall him missing chances in his first season /18 months with us  , it really was a goal every chance he had.

The way Suarez plays now reminds me of the way he used to be. Suarez is just a much better player while Torres was more ruthless

Torres just needs a pre season and a proper rest

He was almost carrying that Liverpool team along with Gerrard and that took alot out of him, plus the injurys didnt help and being rushed back into the team when not fit

He came to us half way through the season low on confidince and unfit, he joined us when we were playing s**t and lacked any sort of creativity

Next season, hes going to get a proper rest, a pre season and play in a much more creative side

Just him next season

GOAT.
I've been saying it for a while he has just lost it, the guy is no longer one of the very best and I don't see him getting back to how he use to be. I have no idea why it is though.

i think they're too similar players, dont think it would of worked as well as you might think.

I think the constant injuries have played a part, given the thinking that if he runs less, there is less chance of being injured

I was saying last season that he was lazy and i was mocked for it. The only game i say him actually work hard was after he scored against west ham. Over the years ive seen chelsea buy strikers and they have struggled to score on a regular basis, the likes of Sutton, Crespo, Kezman, Sheva, Mutu went through a bad patch the thing is the chelsea fans still backed them coz they worked hard for the team. People talk about sheva as being a massive flop in england but he worked his socks off for the team. I remember one game he cleared the ball off the line from a corner and celebrated like he had just scored for us. He really put in a shift.
Torres on the other hand does not. I wouldnt have cared if he didnt score all season if he tracked back and put in a shift but he didnt. He would just stand there and expect to get the ball every time. Sorry nando you aint at liverpool anymore, at chelsea u have to work for it. The only positive from the torres signing was that it gave drogba a right kick up the arse.

Suarez floats around alot more and Torres is the clinical finisher

would be like Rooney and Chico in that sense, would work easily

Can't help but think this thread would be completely different if it was made in December.
