Its one thing using guys like carrick, giggs and scholes to beat premier league teams and overwhelming them, but did united need that extra bit of quality today? when fergy also said it would be mascherano he would buy, do united need someone like him? really good at positioning himself and lightening inc losing down guys? is it time to get rid of the likes of giggs and scholes? bring in players with more quality who can sustain it for a decent period in a game? with all due respect, players like park, giggs, carrick and scholes would never beat barce this season unless they got lucky with you know barce missing their chances and united scoring a belter I think it is hard to decide, what is difficult in spending money is that you need to train the player for a year or two to get used to the philosophy of the club i personally think that with the defence united had, if they had the golden trio of masch, alonso and gerrard with park on the left, rooney up top and valencia on the right, they could have had the quality to definitely match barcelona i felt they lacked someone to mark out the tight spaces and anticipate the very qquick balls to messi when he dropped off, that is something masch could have done, it was something carrick or giggs could never do using the passing of alonso and gerrard to not just close down but keep the ball and suffocate the team thats just me then but i think fergy needs to add more specialised quality players like masch and alonso type |

No I genuinely believe he won't sign a top class CM because he's hopeful that the youth team players can make the step up in the next year or two. |

I think he HAS to buy a dominant midfield player. Modric would be great but I still feel we should have got after Yaya Toure what a beast of a player. would have helped stem Barca yesterday. |

SAF was evidently furious last night. He was hurting that his team were beat again in a CL final by the same team. He won't like that one bit. But it represents a new, and very big challenge for him that he won't back down from imo. He said after 2009 he spent weeks after analysing the game etc and that it really got to him. I can only imagine what this will do now. I think he wants Scholes to stay, but if he does leave then it will force Fergie's hand and I do expect us to try and spalsh big this summer. Whether it be on a wide player, or striker, and hopefully a midfield player. Surely he can see we were dominated in that area once again and that he will invest. |

I personally think he will buy big, if it was wenger the answer would be no as he is too arrogant to do so imo i saw the picture of fergy with his first tight and shaking watching his team, he was so so furious at being outclassed has he got a team good enough for the epl? yes, but for winning the ebst in europe? no unless they get lucky saggy fair enough to think that but i will be surprised if with young you dont buy a top a cm the time for giggs and scholes to go have come, united dont need them anymore imo they can do a job but its better to bring in someone for the future |

We deff have a team capable of winning in Europe. Any other team other than Barca in the final and we have a big chance. |

without luck you dont have a good chance i rate barce and madrid much better, i would say 9 times out of 10 barce would win 7 times out of 10 madrid would win you cant rely in praying for someone to knock barce out and avoid them, you need to have a team to challenge them |

the united team is certainly better at beating the smaller sides, which is fine until the last 8 of the CL and in the League. a New Cm is needed, the work rate of Xavi and Iniesta was of the level of fletcher/masch but they also have the quality on the ball |

I also think United have a better chance against Barca over 2 legs |

Maybe Ferguson overthought it all monty? Barcelona don't change how they play for anybody and they know who will play. It's always the other team stressing, having to talk about preparation and research and learning. Ferguson and all the managers of teams at the top of the table should have received a wake up call anyway, both from this competition and the league. United won it deservedly cos they were the best but the league was poor. I was wrong yesterday, I thought this would just be about Man United and Barca but all of a sudden it has become England v Spain, even though Real Madrid haven't been in a final in how lon. Our top four this season are four teams that have all been inconsistent in one way or another. |

plus i don't think specialized players will help , who in the barca side is a specialized player? the front 6 move about so freely, Busquets is the only one who really has a specific role |

the golden trio i dont think it will change fergies outlook one bit, he is too stubborn simetimes. I think it will be a wske up call for the glazers, they need to let fergie spend some serious money |

I'm not sure that losing to the best team on the planet, possibly ever, is a trigger for a wake up call. Yes, Man Utd were well beaten, but being well beaten by the current Barca team is not a disgrace. Assuming this was taken as a wake up call, what could he or anyone else do about it? Even if Bacon Face was given £200 million+, he wouldn't get the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta or Villa, so even money wouldn't address this particular issue. Barca are not unbeatable, but it is bloody difficult to see anyone else come close to their level of consistency in the near future. |
