To be honest it's another case of an English International been sold in the Premier League. He's over-rated and over-priced in my opinion. If he's deployed as an old fashioned winger then it's a step backwards for Man United the way the game is going these days. If his role is more of an attacking midfielder then I'd imagine he wouldn't have the where with all to make the difference against the top clubs in Europe and possibly in England also, which would result in a net improvement of nothing.

He won't be played as an AM because that is now Rooney's position.

Its not really a signing for Europe IMO its strengthening for the league after we struggled when Valencia was out

Not happy with this signing at all. Not a player we need and for the price that is being said, we have been robbed

Who are the "for Europe" players so?

As regards having a player for 38 games a year in case another player is out, is £18M good value?

TBH in regards to Europe we have been very successful in recent seasons. So IMO we don't need to strengthen as much there, we need to strengthen in the league with Man City and Liverpool spending big. Chelsea will also want to close the gap at the top and to challenge again

Modric would be the only player that needs to come in to strengthen us in Europe IMO

there are also FA cup games and he will also feature in Europe(but not necessarily improve us there), so far more opportunity to play than "38 games"

Are you serious? We have been defeated in 2 of the las 3 CL finals! Of course we need to improve in Europe. We have won 4 league titles int he last 5 years

IMO there is going to be far more competition in the league this season, and we were hardly world beaters last season. we were the best of a bad bunch domestically. IMO first priority is league, 2nd is CL and 3rd FA cup.

With the way City and Liverpool seem to be spending there is more chance of us falling out of the top 4

we have also reached 3 of the last 5 CL finals, which is joint with Barca, the team that beat us in the finals. we cant focus on beating 1 team
