Messi; how would he cope in the prem

Asked if Messi could dictate games in the England as he does in Spain, Rooney said: 'If you bring Xavi and Iniesta with him, yes. But it would be difficult, almost impossible for him to play as he does in Spain.

'The game is more physical here, going to the likes of Birmingham and Stoke away is very demanding. Cristiano Ronaldo is more suited to the English game than Messi. Cristiano is taller and good in the air.'

agree/ disagree

he would take a while to adapt and there would be managers that would tell their players to go out and kick him out of the game, but after he had adapted to the prem he would bang in 30 goals a season and whoever he played for would walk the league

GOAT.
Its just a poor excuse to play down the guy. He'd rip any league apart its that simple.

This again......
checked the first page and there was nothing

thought it may have been done but couldnt see owt

Dimi, completely agree about Silva, he took about 6 months to get used to the prem though, so i would imagine messi would do the same, although ihe may do it quicker.

Hasn't actually been done but it has been mentioned so many times.

Personally I think he could preform in any league,

Messi could go the rest of his life and never play in the Premier League and still be considered one of the true greats. Look back over the years, Pele, Maradonna, Cruyff, Zidane, Platini, Figo, Rivaldo, Big Ron, Ronaldinho. What have they all got in common? All true greats, none of them played with English clubs. Winter nights at the Britannia are not the barometer of greatness and the people who think so are Neanderthals with a self-preserving agenda like Wayne Rooney and Andy Gray.

think he has shown in the CL alone he has what it takes to make fools out of the elite english clubs. dont see the likes of stoke, bolton etc being a problem for him. same goes for the likes of xavi and iniesta who are of similar build to lionel.

I agree with Rooney, without the midfield behind messi he wouldnt do half as well IMO.
