  Fair play to them though, at some point a manager will work out that Villa are no bigger or better a club to be in charge of than Fulham.

bigger fan base, better training facility, bigger stadium, more successful history, more money

positives if he comes to villa - stephen ireland finds some form + darren bent :balotelli:

we will have a LB again  and probably rob some players from his previous clubs, id rather a more ambitious appointment but its better then Gmac

fulham will need to spend a fair it of money if o'neill is there, not sure he will like the leash they would put on him (thats where his problems at villa began.)

leslie should have stayed at least one more year, to show some loyalty as they gave him a job when he was unemployed. He will be the first to complain when a player wants to jump ship.

I actually thinkhe will go to chelsea

teb, don't get your hopes up about superman. His form was fantastic when robinho was playing well and was bothered about playing for City, He also used to have two men marking him which meant superman could run into that space. Once robbie couldo't be bothered them superman lost form and Leslie dropped him. If tried different things but couldn't get the best out of him again.

I dont think Jol would join them. I think he would want a "bigger" team than Fulham.
Spurs wernt that big when he joined..bigger than fulham but not what they are today.

European football and a decent budget he could be just what they need he set up spurs nicely

Villa not considering Hughes
Welshman not in running after Fulham departure

Sky Sports sources understand that Mark Hughes is not in the frame to take charge of Aston Villa despite leaving his role as Fulham manager on Thursday evening.

Gerard Houllier stepped down as Villa boss earlier this week to concentrate on his health and Villa immediately started searching for a replacement.

Hughes' departure from Craven Cottage then fuelled speculation that he would be appointed as Houllier's successor in the near future.

However, the Welshman insisted as he quit Fulham that he had not received an approach from anyone and that his decision had not been influenced by outside parties.

And Sky Sports sources understand that Villa are not currently considering Hughes as they look to fill the vacant hot-seat.

A number of other high-profile names have been linked with the position as Villa aim to build on a ninth-placed Premier League finish under Houllier.
