Yeah but gerrard and carragher not getting any younger, boo. Carroll and Henderson are youths. He also went for Phil Jones and I don't know how old Adam is so can't really use that in my argument but he's English too, right?

Adam is Scottish. Yuo don't really need a "strong English core" tbh. You need quality players, and currently, Henderson & Carrol are just potential. And if its true they are signing Adam, Scott Dann etc then I don't believe they are of sufficient quality to break the top 4. Look at what City had to do to get in there.

Liverpool have the lieks of Kelly, Robinson and FLannagan as talented young British players there already so I don't really see the arguement that they need more.

I don't necessarily think a team NEEDS a strong set of English players, but it could be good for those players to play together week in week out. I'm not talking about British, there's no such thing in the football world

Ah, reminds me one of my favourite debates....

No team has won the prem without a strong British influence, therefore it is a requirement. Until that is broken, then the point is valid.

i think we are going a bit ott with the british thing but azward does make a good point, yes on paper it doesnt look like we will achieve anything with some of these guys but at all top teams there are players that make you go

wtf?

as long as we compliment this team with a cultured left back and a solid world class player to play from the left then i am happy enough in the end

no

GOAT.
Keown only just managed to get a medal. He made 10 appearances with a sub on the last day becuase Parlour went up to him when he was warming up and told him Wenger wanted him to sit down as he wasn't going on to wind him up
