Not sure if this has been posted already as the interview is from a week ago, i can't seem to find it. But delete/move if needed.

Villas-Boas will be investigating Torres interview in which he appears to be criticising his team mates.

Quote:

Torres spoke to the official website of Spain's Primera Liga last week, with an English translation later appearing on the forward's personal website.

Torres, who has endured a miserable run in front of goal since his £50 million move from Liverpool, was quoted as branding Chelsea's "older" players as "very slow", and hailing new team-mate Juan Mata as a necessary signing.

Villas-Boas sought an explanation from Torres, who claimed his words were not translated accurately on his own website.

Chelsea were today seeking to obtain a copy of the interview in its original Spanish and Villas-Boas revealed he would warn Torres not to speak so candidly about the club in future if the translation did stand up.

He said: "We are going in-depth to regain the tape of that interview. "We'll see if things play exactly as they are in that interview."

The interview was authorised by Chelsea, otherwise Torres would have been facing a fine.

Asked what action would be taken if the translation proved accurate, the Blues boss said: "We'd just talk. Just talk. To share opinion.

"If it was unauthorised, I'd fine him. Of course."

He added: "Anyhow, it's one player's perspective.

"I don't think it's a perspective that the manager shares. I don't have to share my players' ideas sometimes.

"I think we have competence, apart from the 'age problem', which for me is not a problem.

"Maybe we just have to speak about that situation and he has to see our view as well."

They are to ploddy to get the best from Torres. They should have got Aguero as well as Matta & played them either side of him. They need another decent player on the right. I suspect Hazard or someone similar will be Chelsea bound in Jan

On the right you mean? Maybe, I dont see him there long term though. He should be pushing Torres for his place.

Apparently Torres claimed he said Chelsea play too slowly.

AVB though is not totally convinced as he is asking for a tape of the conversation.

That said whatever he actually said AVB will only talk to him about it.

Once again though, this is hardly likely to endear him to his team mates, is it?

Frank Leboeuf: Torres is overrated

Quote:

Leboeuf, who spent five seasons at Stamford Bridge, also believes Chelsea's record-breaking £50-million January signing from Liverpool is overrated.

“Nowadays we make somebody a star because they play well for six months," Leboeuf said in an interview with the Daily Star.

“I think the problem is that we make somebody into a star who doesn’t deserve to be called a star. You have to show for three or four years at the top level that you are a star. Didier Drogba is a star, John Terry is a star.

“They’ve been playing for years at the highest level. Torres was at home when he was at Atlético Madrid and he did well at the start at Liverpool.

“So is he a star? I don’t know . . . and if Torres is not a star, maybe Chelsea paid too much for him and he’s not good enough for them. So far that’s what it is. “This is the first time he finds himself at a club where he is not the main player. At Liverpool they were playing for him, at Atlético Madrid as well.

“Chelsea don’t. They’re not playing for him. He has to find his space. Maybe he struggles with that. There are other players there and they are all stars.”

Leboeuf's comments come just days after Torres set up both goals in Chelsea's 2-0 defeat of Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

The World Cup winner with France in 1998 added that Torres's problems are in his head.

“He’s a nice guy, he is able to do it but it’s all in his mind,” said Leboeuf. “That’s the difference between a big player and an average player. It’s all up there. If you’re not hungry and angry, you’re done.”
