players become complacent all the time especially ones with egos like most of those chelsea players. on top of that they are getting on abit. i always said chelsea with ancelotti in charge reminded me of milan especially last season.

Malouda created more chances than any other player in the league last season. Very good player. I agree the players were not playing as well as they could. I'd say having Drogba play would help though. Torres is not good enough to be playing as a lone striker if expected to do with Drogba role. Infact Falcao has a better allround game so he won't be doing that role to the level he did for Porto either.

The movement was there, the aggression was back. The finishing lacked confidence, save for the excellent goal he did score.

Torres will be back; today he could've scored 4 and you wouldn't have been surprised.

Of course Torres can play the line role he played it all through his liverpool career and played it very very well today. he seems to like mata and mata seems to pick him out with ease. malouda creates chances but not in the way torres needs it. malouda crosses whereas mata slips through ball in behind whuch is when torres comes alive.

Just becuase you play the lone role in one side doesn't mean you can in another. His all round game is not good enough to be doing the role Drogba or Falcao did. I remember Torres having very good movement and winning quite a few headers becuase of crosses at Liverpool.

Anelka was the one who got the assist today with a ball in behind and he got chances like that last season. You all make out he got 0 chances but thats nonsense. He just bottled the ones he did get.

he did same as rooney but they relish balls slipped in behind. and i agree with what you just said players wont always suit the same role in diff teams which torres didnt till mata arrived. which has changed chelsea's style of play.

Henderson supposedly created the second amount of chances last season  that 'chances created' stat is bullshit.

Not sure where you read that  I only saw stats for players from top 5. Modric, Silva, Nani, Nasri, Malouda etc....

Anyway you saw a player already there create a chance he apparently never got before today.

It was actually 5th most created, the four to create more scoring chances than Henderson were Malouda (117), K Davies (91), Brunt (86) and Downing.

Stat being bullshit or not I saw him get chances like he got today and it was a player ALREADY there who gave him the chance and the pace of play had nothing to do with it.

Of course the quickness of play has something to do with it, Torres loves through balls to run onto, if your playing slow, the defence has time to get back making it alot harder to play through balls
