You are totally ignoring my point.

"He didn't get balls in behind"

He did today and bottled. He got other type of chances last season and he bottled. He is constantly bottling chances he would have scored before. All sorts of chances.

Its funny how when it suits its he didn't the right type of chances and then it changes to any chances.
He also got a ball in behind and scored a great goal, he also got another ball in behind where he set up Ramires who missed a sitter and he also got another ball in behind the other day where he set up Mata

Do you think every striker finishes every decent chance they get?
No but they score more than 1 in every 100. The other day it showed he had a conversion rate of 3%

Yeah definitely, he looked up for it after scoring and I know he wasn't but he did look a little quicker of the mark  Had a couple of good moments were he wasn't stuck in two minds about what to do, specifically the little run were he beat a few players. If he has a few good games on the trot and builds his confidence up then he'll be banging them in in no time imo.

It really depends on the chance, the fact is, Torres has mostly been getting half chances at Chelsea, a player low on confidence isnt likely to score many of them

Would you say the inclusion of Mata and Meireles has helped Torres?

Yeah he has never had a 1 vs 1 untill today. All half chances most from about 50 yards out iirc. The open goal today wasn't his fault either only a half chance. You make it sound like he was playing with 10 forking blind retards last season. Stop playing down the Chelsea side. They are nowhere near as bad as you are making them out to be.

Are you trying to compare the side van Persie has around him to the side Torres does?

The two new additions changed it for me. Both are midfielders who will look for the pass before the shot. Look at Suarezs goal against Arsenal for example, Meireles unselfishly squared it as Suarez was in a better position. I'd put everything I own on Lampard or Essien shooting from there. Everytime I've watched Torres at Chelsea his movement has been top class but he's ignored a lot of the time by people who just shoot on sight.

That's not to say Torres hasn't been given chances, he has been given a few he would normally bury but his confidence was that low that he wasn't putting them away so the midfielders were even less likely to pass to him, and his confidence kept falling. It was a viscious cycle. Now he has two players behind him that will play the ball quickly and in front of him. He played decent midweek and got a goal today so he gained a little of his old confidence back. Which was the main reason for him looking better. There's no telling how much of damage that miss will do to him now though. But I think he'll be ok.
