I think it is:

"Owen Hargreaves has claimed Manchester United put his career on the line by administering the wrong treatment for his chronic injury problems and making a series of mistakes that left him fearing he may never play football again." (first Paragraph of the OP)

which is why it is getting the response it has
But did Owen actually claim that??? I haven't seen that quote anywhere mate?

Not from any of the articles i've read he hasn't. He said he felt like a guinea pig and that the injections didn't work for him plus he MAY have been misdiagnosed. Not ground breaking stuff.
He also stated he was willing to have the injections because he didn't want to wait for 6 months for the inflammation to go down....thus admitting he too was to blame.

But i stand by what i said, the Hargreaves hate thing is pathetic. I understood the Tevez thing but this is utter bollo*ks imo.
I haven't commented on what he said, just why people might be saying it. TBH half the stuff in the papers is BS

maybe it's the word guinea pig, it kind of suggests united medics were just experimenting on him without knowing the consequences of what treatments they are using :S

But thats what these injections are Merc, experimental. And by that i mean the short term benefits are there but no-one really knows how long they can be used before the benefits become side affects?

*Where's Jimmy when we need him? He's the medical guru round here :thumb:

Some experts are now saying long term use is bad....but no-one knows what long term is? Weeks, Months, Years?

Its a nothing story designed to sell papers to one of the most followed clubs in the world. If he'd have come from Fulham, Wigan etc to City it wouldn't have even been printed i think.

thing is if someone said to me you're treating me like a guinea pig i wouldnt take it as a positive thing. personally, thats how i would see it if it was me.

i think it still would have been printed because he went from united but i agree to the extent that it wouldnt have received as much coverage or made into such a big deal

#MUFC have 'shared all medical records with Man City and comfortable with actions taken by medical staff at each step

I think the term "guinea pig" refers to that his knees were so bad that the standard treatments had little to no effect so more radical measures were needed. There was no way of knowing how he would respond to the treatment but there would be no way the club would have done the treatments without the experts suggesting it or without Hargreaves consent.

Seriously mate is this what we've resorted to as a valid arguement? Lets pick single sentences from every interview to save us all reading time regardless of how it distorts the truth!

Do you think there is a possibility in the first interview his medical treatment wasn't being quized but in the second it was???? Radical i know!

I give up
