Kia Joorabchian nailed the truth about Carlos Tevez in his amazing defence of the Manchester City striker on Wednesday.

Not that his interpretation of the interpretations of the interpreter shed any new light on the sorry situation, and not that his talk of misunderstandings and mismanagement cuts much ice with Blues fans who have hardened their hearts to their former idol.

But Kia’s little story about Tevez’s attempts to ‘kill’ a doctor, as the adviser put it, when he was at Corinthians, tells you all you need to know about Tevez.

Joorabchian, whose Media Sports Investment company at the time owned Corinthians, claims he had to intervene as Tevez vented his anger at a doctor who had declared him unfit to play in a Copa Libertadores clash with River Plate.

Tevez subsequently played, for 90 minutes, added Joorabchian, as if that backs up his argument that Tevez ALWAYS wants to play. What he failed to mention was that Corinthians lost and were knocked out.

How much of that was down to Corinthians fielding a striker who expert medical opinion had deemed was not in a fit state to play, is not quantifiable. Was Tevez’s decision for the good of Corinthians or was it for the good of Carlos Tevez, for his own drives, desires and ambitions?

The one thing that has kept City fans fairly amenable to the Argentinian, through all of his sulks, moans and insults – apart from his goals, of course – is the fact that he always puts in 100 per cent whenever he is on the pitch.

That is what inspired the City flag bearing an image of Tevez and the Spanish word ‘Pasion’.

And yet the passion he shows on the field is not reflected off it. Tevez appears to have, at best, an apathy for the clubs for whom he has played. Perhaps the ‘pasion’ is for himself, rather than his team. Of course, all top sportsmen need to be single-minded, and few put their club or their team first when push comes to shove.

But most footballers recognise the fact that football is, above all, a team game.

Tevez returned from his summer break admitting he was six kilos overweight, and he was soon lagging behind Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko in the pecking order as they began the season in spectacular goal-scoring style.

To suggest he ‘didn’t deserve this treatment’, as Joorabchian stated, is childish and disrespectful to the manager and to his team-mates.

But Mancini is not the first superior to fall foul of Tevez’s moods and self-obsession.

His chairman at Boca Juniors admitted he was ‘saddened’ and ‘annoyed’ that the player left for Corinthians in 2004, after they had nurtured his talent for three seasons.

When at Corinthians, Tevez was reported as having gone ‘on strike’ as he eyed up a move to Europe, incurring the wrath of his coach Emerson Leao when he failed to turn up for training.

Leao, who had stripped him of the captaincy for his inability to speak Portuguese, said: “I’m not going to make allowances for those that don’t deserve it. I arrived only a short time ago and have a two-year contract.

“Tevez has missed other training sessions so this is nothing new. From what I have seen, the team played 45 games last year and he played only 24.

Respect

“Does anyone understand what Tevez says when he speaks? Because I don’t. He is a citizen who has to answer for his own actions and he has no reason for his absence. Corinthians received no official notice and we need to work with concrete, reliable facts.”

Tevez was a big hero at West Ham as he helped the club stay up in 2006, but his manager at Upton Park, Alan Pardew, later painted a different picture.

The fiery Argentinian left the ground early after being substituted in one match, and there were reports he had played his last match for the Hammers.

Pardew said at the time: “He showed no respect. I am disappointed with him. He has a lot of explaining to do.”

And after he was sacked, Pardew said the fans had not seen the whole picture. “Tevez is such a big hero at West Ham, but when you look more closely, everything that we had started to do, started to achieve, changed – and not necessarily for the better – when he arrived,” he explained.

“In the end, Tevez did brilliantly for the club and helped them stay up – fair play – but you might ask ‘Where did the club’s problems actually start that season?’”

Regardless of the words which were spilled on that dramatic night in Munich, perhaps the silent images speak for themselves. The TV pictures of Tevez, his hand to one side of his mouth, furtively glancing around as he spoke to fellow sub Pablo Zabaleta, will live in the memory long after the words have been chewed over and forgotten.

But it is Zabaleta’s body language which tells the true story.

Tevez’s countryman does not have anything like the ability with which Tevez was blessed, but he is a thoroughly professional, driven and competent footballer, and a decent and balanced human being.

During Tevez’s chat, his eyes remain fixed on the pitch, not once meeting Tevez’s gaze, his head making no nodding acknowledgement of anything that is being said, his mouth silent.

At the next City match, fans will unveil a flag bearing the image of Zabaleta, and carrying the slogan ‘Corazon de Leon’ – meaning ‘Heart of a Lion’ – while Tevez’s ‘Pasion’ flag will be in the nearest bin.

It is strange to think that the defender will be remembered with far more affection by City fans than a man who has scored a remarkable 52 goals in 84 games during the most important phase in the club’s history.

No doubt Joorabchian will claim that Mancini, Pardew and Leao were all in the wrong, and Carlitos is a paragon of professionalism.

Corinthians have no plans to renew their interest in Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, their general manager Edu has told BBC Sport.

There's more money to be had from Russia with Anzi.

Tevez has s**t on Corinthians once before so i'm a little surprised they are back in for him anyway.

Out of both sides it'll be interesting to see who Tevez will pick?
Money or close to home?

I wouldn't bet against it being Money! <_<

Really never want to see this guy in a City shirt again.
Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro :thumb:

Diego Maradona has ruled himself out making a bid for wantaway Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez... but Spanish giants Real Madrid are prepared to offer the star a way out of his Eastlands nightmare.

The Daily Mirror report Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of the tenacious striker and would love to take him to the Bernabeu in January. However Tevez's astronomical wages of £250,000-a-week could prove to be a stumbling block with Real unable to match them. Cristiano Ronaldo is the club's current top earner on £200,000-a-week.

TEVEZ DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM MANCINI (allegedly)
Quote:

Carlos Tévez will return to Manchester City on Thursday demanding an apology and retraction from Roberto Mancini as he continues to fight the manager’s allegation that he refused to play as a substitute against Bayern Munich last month.

Following the club’s two-week internal investigation into the alleged incident, undertaken while Tévez was suspended on full pay, Manchester City issued a statement claiming that they had ''concluded that there is a case for Carlos Tévez to answer of alleged breaches of contract”.

Tévez, who met with City officials in London on Wednesday following his return from Buenos Aires, is insistent that Mancini should apologise for claiming that he refused to play in the Allianz Arena. In return, the former Manchester United striker would issue his own apology for an initial refusal to warm-up during the match, although he remains adamant that at no time did he refuse to play. Tévez is understood to be prepared to accept that he was wrong to not warm-up when first told to do so early in the second half of the Champions League match, although he claims he did then try to prepare to play but was told to sit back down.

The 27 year-old will apologise, but only if Mancini withdraws comments made after the match which have upset and angered Tévez and damaged his reputation.

However, neither Mancini nor City are prepared to do this and the case is now going forward with the club confident they can prove he breached his contract. Negotiations between both sides took place all day yesterday but no agreement was reached.

Tévez is determined to clear his name and is prepared to take the case to a Premier League disciplinary panel.

As part of the proceedings, there will be a discussion over whether Tévez will be fined. The player is unconcerned about this and simply wants his reputation restored.

The initial disciplinary panel is expected to be convened at the start of next week and will be chaired by a member of City’s executive leadership team, with senior figures such as Ian Cafferky, Jonathan Stemp and Graham Wallace all under consideration to chair the panel.

If Tévez wishes, he can be accompanied at the hearing by a representative from the Professional Footballers’ Association or club captain Vincent Kompany. There is also the possibility of legal representation on both sides.

It is clear, however, that Tévez and his advisers are determined to exhaust every possible avenue of appeal, but it is regarded as highly unlikely that the player will receive the ultimate punishment of his having his contract cancelled by City.

The club has consulted the PFA throughout the investigative process, which has resulted in players and coaching staff being interviewed, as well as video evidence being reviewed. During discussions with the PFA, both City and the players’ union were in agreement that a fine of two weeks’ wages would not be sufficient should Tévez be found guilty of refusing to play.

However, the PFA also made it clear that sacking the player would be too excessive and it is understood that the likeliest penalty to be imposed by City would be a fine of six weeks’ wages, totalling at least £1.2million, followed by Tévez’s sale in the January transfer window.

Despite Tévez’s insistence that he did not refuse to play against Bayern, City believe they have amassed enough evidence to support their counter argument.

It is understood that none of the witnesses interviewed were prepared to support Tévez’s version of events, while a post-match interview given by the player to Sky Sports immediately after the game, in which he admitted that he chose not to play, is regarded as damning evidence.

if tevez is sacked how does that work.obviously he forfiets his contract money etc,but is he free to go where he wants,if thats the case hasnt he basicly got what he wanted.

mumanc, dont want to clog up the suarez thread with this little mong so

if City sack him they can chase him for the money left on his contract AND the loss of transfer fee due to him being a numpty

like chelsea did with mutu, but that is still dragging on in the courts after all this time

City will sell for about £20 mill in january i think
