I really think english players get unfair critisim from the press.

Imo the only team out there better than england are Spain, Holland, Brazil, Argentina, Germany and are on par with France and Portugal and better than Italy.
That itself is a really big accomplishment and the team continues to turn out world class players, even when there is a lot of questions being asked about youth development arsenal will bring through Wilshire and out of nowhere Phil Jones will make a name for himself.
People just need to drop their expectations for england, everything is brought back to 1966 where im sure greece wont even judge their team on 2004 yet along that far back.
From reading a foreign press that are a lot less expectant of england it puts thing into persepective, anywhere over the quarter finals of a comp is a good acievement and the players should be praised, when ireland got to the second round of the world cup in 2002 they were greated at home by an open top bus parade around the city, they went out and put up a fight and did the country proud which is something england fans need to take into acccount.
If the pressure was off there is no doubt england would be competiting for trophies
