Agree with this. Said at the start of the season but I think he'll be very important to the way we play and the tempo we play at without getting many plaudits or headlines. Very pleased with him.

But sure he was only on loan to bump up his price wasn't he Monty?

Bit early to be singing his praises after 3 or 4 PL games. He just looks good in a good United side atm i think.
He is a decent prospect and adds to Uniteds tempo but we'll see how good he really is when opposition midfields/ defences work him out and he see's less of the ball.

Not criticising him just adding perspective to the Cleverly parade ;)
Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro :thumb:

If anything he looks good in a bad United midfield, not had a player like him since Scholes dropped into that deep lying role. Still not been tested against one of the big sides.

A cooler head might say that:

A) Cleverley has had three full league matches plus a few minutes at Bolton.
B) People were bitching about us being poor against West Brom
C) A very poor Arsenal side who lost Fabregas and Nasri and hadnt got their s**t together at the back
D) We beat a Spurs side reeling from the wrangles with Modric and I could neither name nor recognise the Spurs stand-in CM players.
E) The winning streak continued without him.
F) There is a very good case for saying that our good start to the season owes a big part to a combination of players especially Young, Jones, Smalling, Nani , Rooney and Wellbeck all stepping up. In particular the perceived change of style might be more due to Ashley Young on the left than any other single factor.

It might be a big mistake to put it all on Cleverley's shoulders...that is just asking for a confused backlash when United stutter eventually, or if he doesn't pick up where he left off before the injury. Don't get me wrong, I love him as a player and think he'll be very important to us, but saying we've played poorly simply because we don't have Cleverley is building him up for a fall.

IMO if Cleaverly had played against Stoke insted of Fletcher we would have done better, its those types of games he will influence most at the moment

Yes mate, sorry, i meant good in a good attacking United side.
United have been excellent going forward and Cleverly has looked better than expected because of it. Against tougher opposition i think we'll see how far he actually has come on.

3 full games is way too early.

Against the bigger sides I'd expect him to have Flecther and Anderson behind him

Hopefully keeps up his promising form, I'm glad he signed a new deal. Still like us to sign a CM though.
