Thats the gist of it, 98% of clubs who have a wealthy owner just have to hope theirs is a better businessman the most rather than them actually caring about the club for more reasons than money/status. I really hope that this doesn't come into play (the TV thing), i like the fact that the prem is one of/the fairest league in terms of revenue. Wasn't it someone on here who told me that the Italian league is moving to a model close to the prem as well? Hopefully Spain follows suit. |

Its doesn't surprise me this has come from a side like Liverpool at all tbh. Not a pop at Pool but they are spending like its going out of fashion (yes from a blue ) and with minimal success on the pitch.Club owners like Warner are in it for the Money now. Typical American, quick cash now, fork the PL, fork the competition, fork history. Personally i can’t see this happening and cant see why it needs to. The PL is more competitive now than i can remember and i'm sure Warner wouldn't even be saying this if Pool were sitting at the top of the league. If it did happen then Clubs like Wigan, Fulham, West brom etc would die on their arse. Big games would be few and far between with the rest of the league games about as competitive as watching United play Crawley town every week. BTW i think this would benefit City if it did go through as we are now one most followed teams in the Oil rich Middle east nations. TV revenue would be massive for us... But not at the cost of the excitement the PL provides. |
Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro

Doesn't matter, it would still create a system closer to the Spanish model and that is not good for the league as a whole in my opinion. |

I think Man Utd should give us a percentage of their gate receipts. |

I hope we dont do this but its not our problem about that smaller clubs, if they struggle that wont bother lfc at all. The yanks that work for us seem to want to do absolutely everything to get as much money out of this as possible so i just hope we see some of it in the end lol. I dont see this happening anyway but we will see

it would just make you one of the most hated clubs in the world if you caused several clubs to fold this wont happen anyway, not a chance the 14 (or whatever is needed) chairmen of the PL clubs will agree to it. edit: it is very interesting to see how far they are willing to go to make the club profitable for them though. Barcelona play Racing Santander at the weekend. Barcelona receive £135m in TV rights. Racing Santander get £13m. Nothing more to be said. |

If it happens, there will be a greater degree of separation and the EPL will turn into something akin to Spain. The league is stronger as a unit than separated into 20 individual parts. Interestingly enough, Italy are in discussion about a unified TV package because the club negotiation has weakened the league overall. At the moment you watch Stoke v Man Utd knowing that the result could go either way. That will change if the individual negotiation is allowed to happen. |

Yeah serious lack of success in the first 6 weeks of the season....Kenny out! Agree with Crouchy, it really shouldnt be our problem if it doesnt benifit the other clubs. |

You seem to forget that without these "other" clubs there is no EPL which give you no product to sell. The EPL's biggest asset is that it is competitive. |

Real Madrid and Barcelona are still immensely popular, despite their league being so uncompetitive. Of course there is a product to sell. |
