Welbeck has to be ahead of Walcott. Bent is probably the best option currently, but if we are talking 442 Sturridge should come into Rooney's role

I'd like to see how Gerrard, Young and Downing playing behind Bent would play out.

bent is not good enough for international football. This is the chance to try the younger strikers out. Got to be sturridge

I'd like to see Sturidge and Welbeck as the front 2 if England keep the same shape they have been using in qualifying. Though I do think England need to set up 433 to stand any chance against some of the bigger nations

On a different note, alot of press saying Rooney shouldnt be taken as he wont be able to play, but we have all seen in previous years that there will be players in the squad that have no chance of game time, Rooney will go to the Euros

the only thing we can do really is take the in form strikers from the end of the season. Whoever they are, regardless of club, we should give them their chance. Knowing Rooney is not going to play the first few games should give the younger lads an extra impetus to perform and show that it should be them on the plane

Rooney goes simple as that. Whoever might take his place wouldnt get a game anyway

I would go for defiow and bent to start

In front of a back 4 & keeper should be :

.............Parker..........Wilshere
Young............Gerrard............Downing
........................Bent

If Defoe, Carroll, Sturridge or indeed another other striker takes the place from Bent then so be it. The same can of course be said of any other postion, but thats less likely. Take Rooney & bring him off the bench when we get through.

My only problem with Gerrard and Bent is who would hold up the ball? both are far better facing the goal than with their backs to it. leads England to being a very counter attacking side, which is good against the big sides, but not against the side that will be in the groups
