I know its probably off topic for this thread but by god Downing has been s**t for the last 5 games or so
Ain't he still top 5 for crosses into the box though statistically?
Not much use if no one gets on the end of them. 11 games, no goals and no assists is poor by anyone's standards.

You should see some of the misses though in fairness

Was a combination of thinking Downing would play in our cup teams more, Carroll would thrive from crosses, and that Mata would be the guy playing the ball to the assister more often than not. Not turning out so well atm

No it allocates the 'quality' of a result based on the strength of the rival team. It's obviously not 100% accurate as no system ever could be, including the real table. But it highlights the fact that a 3 game win streak at home against the bottom 3 may put you at the top of the league table but you would be just expected results (i.e. par) while away wins against the top 3 would have you significanty above par due to the expectation of them being much more dfficult games to win.

Its not based on the previous seasons single result against that team, its based on the teams overall performance in the previous season (which is the only information you have before the new season actually kicks off).

So for example City are flying high at the minute, but they have had a comparatively easy fixture list so far compared to others (despite the away games to Spurs and united).
Following on from this:

To get things going, this is a graph to illustrate how all of the top six teams’ fixtures differ during the coming season. It shows Chelsea and Tottenham should both accrue 47 points after 19 games (not taking into account any rearranged games that affect the order of fixtures), whereas Liverpool should only accrue 41 points if they are to be ‘on target’ for a league title. In fact, it shows that after 20 games, Liverpool’s target number of points is eight fewer than Chelsea and Tottenham’s (42 compared to 50). Therefore, in theory, if Liverpool are less than eight points behind either of these teams at this point in the season, they would in fact be ahead of them in relation to their target. As a matter of interest, Man Utd’s, Arsenal’s and Man City’s 20 game targets are all 46 points.

While Mata has 4 assists and a goal B)

Would be 3 goals if his debut and Champions League games were in the bet

He is far too safe atm. In the first half against Sunderland he was running at the fbs non stop. Now he is basically turning inside and taking the easy option.

When we play 4-2-3-1 with him and Hendo now its a waste of the two wide positions

What other top clubs from around the world would want Kenny as manager. That is all, if he isnt just a stop gap, knee jerk, fan pleasing manager then Liverpool will never win the title again or indeed anything

well I doubt they would but thats a lot to do with the significance of him as a person to the club, nobody else would command the same level of respect from players that are here and want to play for the club and as such its has an impact on his ability to do his job here.

A case of worth more to one club than another due to ties then? I agree.

Not so sure how many liverpool players are there these days for the love of the club or if they are there because of Kenny. So you agree that as a football manager he wouldnt be wanted at other top clubs, is that cos he isnt that good a manager? Is he only at Liverpool to please the crying KOP after they acted like Newcastle fans?
