I hope to god you are on the wind up. Messi is so far from shite for Argentina its unreal. The World Cup and Internationls picked the best players in the world as its when everyone go together back when Puskás etc... were around but now with the huge ammount of foreigners in Europe we have the best players in the world play season in season out in the C/L so Messi is proving himself each season against the best ever so he doesn't need to perform for Argentina at a WC etc.... although he does play well for them anyway. |

“The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game.”

its a matter of opinion. every time i have seen him play for argentina hes been far from impressive, deffo does not play to the high standards at barca. prob because of the fact barca are built around him anyway back on subject. you should have a look at the sir stanley matthews videos. |

For Argentina he has to drop deeper than normal as no one creates so he comes looking for the ball and during the Copa America just like the World Cup he was creating chances for fun. He was an AM for a couple of games at the Copa America due to them creating nothing. |

They both very much are correct ![]() I'd have Xavi over Zidane too. They have missed out some class players. They don't seem to be doing players that have played in England the rats except two. |

When either Xavi or Messi grabs his team by the neck and drags them to a CL or World Cup or Euro Final then I'll consider them to be in the same class. |

Consistancy at a high level. Zidane doesn't come close to either when it comes to this. I've never seen Xavi put in a performance you'd say is poor, the guy is a freak of nature and the ultimate freak of nature of Lionel Messi. How the fork he plays at a level that high and does it so consistanly is beyond amazing. A career isn't over 10-20 games. I'd take the real Ronaldo over Zidane also. |

A career isn't over 10-20 games? Yet greats like Pele, Zidane, Platini, Cruijff, Maradona aren't judged on their 300-400 games with Santos, Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona etc but for their performances with Brazil, France, Argentina & Netherlands. The World Cup, the Euros & the Champions League are the pinnacle of football it is what distinguishes a very good player from a good player. All of those mentioned were leaders and took their teams beyond and to success against the odds. Like I said, both Xavi & Messi are exceptional players but until one of them turns up to a tournament like Euro 2000 or WC 2006 or CONSISTENTLY performs exceptionally in high pressure matches vs. Italy '00, vs. Brazil '98, vs. Bayer Leverkusen '02, vs. Brazil '06, vs. Italy '06 then I'd consider them to be his equivalents. |
