GOAT.

Go read what I said about the worlds best being in Europe now. The champions league is better than the WC now and its better than Euro's too so they do not need to turn up to any of them. when they are turning up and smashing it year in year out in the worlds best compeition. Xavi has performed consitantly high at a WC, Euro's and the best competition there is The Champions League so your arguement against him has just gone out of the window. International football is s**t and is a forking pathetic way to judge players. Judge them on what they can do week in week out not once every 4 years. Messi 08/09, 09-10, 10-11 is much better than Zidane has ever been. |

But did Xavi ever reach the heights that Zidane did during Euro 2000 & WC 2006? Nope. Has Messi ever reached similar heights that Zidane reached during 2000 & 2006? No. |

Messi has gone far beyond the level of Zidane reached in those years in the past 12 months. So what if Xavi at his best is not as good as Zidane at his?! Ronaldinho was better than Zidane at his best so I guess Ronaldinho is better. |

ask the players, not the managers because its the players opinion that counts not their club managers |

don't think xavi is a similar player to zizou anyway. bit unfair to compare em xavi vs scholes is a better comparison. |

The higher standard of football is played in the champions league. It doesn't matter what the players say It won't change that.

Which is why I included it:- "CLor World Cup or Euro Final ". And again, like I said, they are exceptional players but until "Xavi or Messi grabs his team by the neck and drags them to a CL or World Cup or Euro Final then I'll consider them to be in the same class." Neither have done so, neither have ever stepped up within a tournament whilst all else are failing and neither have reached the heights Zidane did. Consistently high is not the same as consistently exceptional. International tournaments, specificity, has never been a "s**t" and "pathetic" way to judge players - especially in the case of Zidane. Provide an argument, which will of course be invalid due to the shitty basis, rather than produce a crappy statement. Zidane 02-03, Zidane WC '06 & Zidane Euro '00 is much than anything Messi has had to offer. |

Some sense, and Xavi isn't even as good as Pirlo but that's another matter. |

i see your logic zeezoo and agree with most of it. what do you think of Iniesta then? he seems to drag his teams both barca and spain out of situations. |

"grabs his team by the neck and drags them to a CL or World Cup or Euro Final then I'll consider them to be in the same class." Never did it in WC 2006 and never did it for Barcelona. |
