Without a shadow of doubt our worst signing in recent years is Jo.

Forking painful to watch. Couldn't make runs, couldn't pass, couldn't head, couldn't tackle, couldn't care less and totally oblivious to his inability to play football. A total passenger in every one of his 41 games for us with a grand total of 6 goals to his name (against Portsmouth, Nicosia x2, Salzburg, West brom and Juventus).

41 games in 3 years for reported 18m deal  which was thankfully mostly based on appearences/goals etc.

....forked off back to Brazil to Internacional in the summer and is yet to score for them  ....forking hate him as a footballer

Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro :thumb:

This was in 2000 but it's worth a mention anyway.

The Wearsiders signed Nuñez for £1.1m in March 2000, apparently under the impression that they were buying him from the Uruguayan top-flight side Nacional Montevideo. In fact, Nuñez was then playing for a Third Division club, Uruguay Montevideo.
