You should be banned just for putting Carrick into the same sentence as Pirlo and Alonso tbh. |

i get that but again hes 18/19 rio had very poor positional sense at that age as do many other players. hes gna improve that aspect of his game no doubt. |

Ok let me put it this way - he is getting a chance in the carling cup only because of his attacking credentials. He is an attacking player, there is no way to gloss over that. |

Viva clearly takes a keen interest in the youths and if he says he ain't dm material at youth or res level then IMO there is no chance at Pogbas age that you could teach him that and be a success at snr level. The jump up is huge and he would need to be playing that role for at LEAST a year before having a shot at doing it a higher level. |

ive seen him too im not undermining viva as i know hes watches loads of footie. But I can see what fergie is trying to do. and of course you can mould a player at 18/19 jack wilshere was hardly accustomed to Dm/cm at youth level, and i watched alot of him. |

Carrick in 2006/2007 was a majestic player, just for that season he deserves to be up there. But yes, let us not shy away from the fact that you believe a "great defensive & creative player" is elusive. |

Wilshere is much more like Morrison where its evident he just has a natural understanding of the game. He probably doesn't even have to think about where to be or what to do, he just knows it. For Pogba to do that role he will need to be doing it regularly for at the very least a year. It's the role Petrucci is playing in the reserves at the minute, though it wouldn't surprise me if Pogba took over that role next year, but hell need to do it for a year before getting the chance in the first team. Thing is mate to pay all that money (reports between 30-40M) then a huge contract on top and play a top draw in the hole player (which I think is Rooney' best position by far) and then put him in CM where I'm sure he can play to a good level but not to the maximum of his potential wasn't worth the probable 100M +. SAF thought so by pulling out of the negotiations. @ manu22 - he's spot on about Pogba. He may be taught the deeper role due to his size etc, but I don't think it would be natural to him and could potentially ruin him by making him something he isn't. IMO the only thing he has similiar to Vieria is colour, size, and physique. I personally hope if Morrison is given the chance later this year Tunnicliffe also is as I really do think this lad could make it at United. His hunger is something the senior lads should take a look at. |

he remimds me of vieira a hell of alot but i guess thats just what I see. Back on topic, do you guys think we should buy midfielders with the likes of cleverley, pogba, morrison and tunnicliffe waiting? |

Yes. Because we currently are not good enough in that area and the players above won't be contributing on a regular basis for a few years yet I imagine. |

Morrison and Clev are ready for the first team. The others are not so I'd still rather we bought someone in. Surely Barca have someone they can lend us for two or three years |
