Whats everyone thoughts on im so far?

When he took over he had alot of critics saying he was too young and wouldnt be able to handle the older players Lampard cos they were the same age

Has he done a good job or did you think he would have done better?

Hard to tell at this early stage, chelsea seem to be adapting a new more interesting style of play which is good to see.

Would really need untill about christmas to make a good opinion

Good manager but showing early signs of pressure. Think if Chelsea were top at Christmas and Fergie hounding him with mind games, he'd crack. His outburst the otherday about refs was a bit cringworthy tbh.

Great prospect though.
Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro :thumb:

I thought he pretty much said the same as Dalglish a couple of weeks ago about his Liverpool team - that Chelsea were being hard done by, by refs. Was Dalglish showing signs of pressure too?
Trying to get an accurate picture of reality, even when that's unpleasant or inconvenient!

For the record i thought Dalglish was out of order too but i dont think Kenny claimed the ref got 2 decisions right and the rest wrong.

I thought he looked stressed as he said it. Might be wrong but it was still cringworthy imo. It was the teams fault, not the refs.

I think he's good and will be on eof the best managers in the game! its scary to think how young he s becuase he carries a demeanor of experience, authority and wisdom! Didn't really like his comments on referees at the weekend which reminded me a little bit of Mourinho's moaning but all the best managers do that!

Home loss to chelsea and away loss to utd conceding 8 goals, not a great record against the top 4

I think you meant a home loss to Arsenal, but after reading your post about 8 times, I think I know what you mean!

We weren't bad when we lost to Man Utd and the result could easily have been different. Today however, our defence was as bad as I can remember seeing since the 90's.

Despite today's result, Arsenal are not a great side, yet they were able to put 5 past us in our own back yard. AVB does seem to like the back four to play very high, which seems a strange strategy, unless you have lightening quick defenders. Bosingwa and Cole are pretty quick, but you cannot say the same about JT, Ivanovic, Alex and to a lesser degree, Luiz.

Cech was beaten at his near post for three of the five goals. Not good enough for a top keeper, although you can't blame AVB for that.

Ramires looked like he hadn't played for a few weeks and should have been replaced earlier.

Sturridge had a poor game, as did Torres. But with Drogba suspended, it was always going to be a later rather than earlier substitution to bring on Lukaku.

Let's not get too carried away by one poor display. Yes we lost to QPR too, but we actually looked pretty good with only nine men. AVB has some work to do to get the defence organised, but I won't be calling for his head yet!

Trying to get an accurate picture of reality, even when that's unpleasant or inconvenient!

It used to be that Arsenal never lost to Chelsea. Then for a while they started whooping our asses and now normal service has resumed. I think it's great that yesterday both managers gave their defences the day off and told their attackers to go crazy. Should have more of that.

Did Ivanovic lose his place last season or does AVB prefer the more attack minded Bosingwa?
