Out of interest who were these goals against and how many were doubles & hat tricks? I'm asking because Arsenal ended last season with 2 wins in 15 (i think) and haven't started this very well which means he scored a s**t load in a short period of time (i presume) before the dip last season maybe??? |
Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro

Putting my quite blatant and well known lust for this man aside, RvP has always been a classy player, but injuries have been hellish for him. People will go 'oh well, he's not sharing his goals with other strikers like Rooney or so and so' but it's not as if goals are being served up on a plate for him and he just happens to be the only striker at Arsenal around (although he was very well assisted by Gervinho and Malouda? on Saturday); a lot of times he's doing the dirty work and pulling strings to create his own goals. He doesn't have a Silva behind him, or a Young/Valencia to whip in great crosses - at least not consistently. I love him

Stuck up bastard

Reminds me of Gerrard a few years back, he's basically carrying the club through matches and if he stays fit I can see him carrying them all the way to the CL places. Like Stace said, it's not like he's being handed things on a plate. He's smashing in goals and showing real leadership in a team that has been pretty low on confidence for a large chunk of the year, which is much harder to do imo than getting a high goal tally in a squad full of quality strikers. |

So United play with 4 strikers do they? You can not say he shares his goals with all 4 becuase all 4 do not start its most of the time Rooney and another and at the end of the day if you are in the positions it will be you who scores them and believe me from watching us this season you can't even begin to make an excuse for Dzeko being behind him in goals there is no way becuase your side has been so much more creative than ours is beyond a joke. Conversion rate is the only thing you need to look at if you are going to judge it the way you seemingly are and I don't know that for any of them lol. Also at the start of 09/10 before his injury he was playing even better than he is now imo. |

Cant believe people even begin to think that Aguero has proved himself anywhere near RVP's class yet. |

Yeah pretty much single handedly beating Barcelona, scoring 100+ goals in 5 seasons for a very good european side winning the Uefa Cup etc....... just isn't good enough. He has without a doubt proved himself to be in van Persie's class. He is the only one currently in his class though imo. These two are a cut above

Talking EPL here arnt we? What he has achieved here, difficult to judge a player thats only just come over in comparrison to a player like RVP. Time will tell on Aguero, it already has with RVP. RVP would run riot in La Liga, lets see what Aguero does here before saying he is better than the best striker in the EPL |

Regardless of where it was he has showed his quality. You don't turn average becuase you move league. The ability is still the same from him and his peformances have been very good anyway in the league. RvP runs riot in the PL as does Aguero. Aguero actually has the better goal/game ratio this season and probably the better goal/minute ratio. |

Some do turn average when they move, happens all the time. That said I havent said Aguero has turned average & agree he has settled in well. Just not done anywhere near enough over a period of time here to prove himself alongside RVP as the EPL's best striker. Rooney is a better arguement & much closer than Aguero. Both bring more to the team than Aguero ever will |
